Yes we are already discussing it, and I hope there will be a lot more people to have cars ready this year

We tried pre approving people 6 months early last year, but that did not go to plan so are discussing best way to get a good contingent ready, all ideas welcome!

Personally I think if entrants paid there own race fee then the club gave it back on the day ?

Then the club isn't out of pocket.

That's a good idea, the only difficulty is that when you register as a team i have to enter and pay for the first five as a block, but I'm sure we can come up with a good idea along those lines. Each year we get let down a lot near the time, but the vast majority are people who really want to do it but have totally genuine reasons.

Easy solution members pay to the club. Either way it pays your race fee's for TOTB

Maybe a little suggestion of better communication this year as i got munk on last year receiving a pm at the last minute after bumping the thread with no reply on a few occasions

Yes we will keep as much in an open thread as possible this year, the staff area thread is essentially the budget thread of who is paying for what, who gets burgers/generator/marquee etc, who is unsured on van, where it is, where it's going, and so on. These things are not easy to organise though, so we'd ask people to be as open and honest/fair to the club as possible, if you are not going to make it please let us know early etc, and from the club side we will communicate back early what we are doing to give all a good chance and get the time booked in etc

It's not a given the club will support TOTB2014 as there are competing requirements where budget could possibly be better spent, so if we want the club go ahead this is where we need help to put forward a team the Commie's can't refuse to back

Ooh I'll be looking at getting into this for certain once she's had some prioritised work done..!
Plan is to get her into a fast track car so I'll follow this thread with much interest..!

M200sex has a really nice s13, i think he was gutted he couldnt make last year. He could be worth a shout.

To make make car more competitive in the 4wd class next time I'm going to be stripping it over the next few months to loose some weight.

This is a good Idea, get people who want to compete to pay a deposit of £50 or £100 to the club which is refunded on or after the event. If they fail to make it then the club keep the money, should help weed out all the dreamers

I hope so, unless we get a good selection of reliable people to confirm early I don't think we will be going otherwise due to the previous years amount of late drop outs.

The amount of members on here with good power cars, im amazed you actually struggle to get a sxoc team for totb together.
I thought you should be knocking people back due to the amount wanting to do it, and then you having the choice of the"better specced cars" in the team
first.
so your first team followed by a reserve list.
