A friend of mine who does this sort of thing for a living is helping me out no end. He is doing the board design, supplying all the components and nailing everything to the boards for me. He does not make his own boards, he uses a very high quality manufacturer for doing that and to be honest, I haven't asked about the spec of anything. If he tells me its good then that's good enough for me. I've seen his work and it is second to none. As soon as I get my hands on the boards, I will put some pics up

A bit of progress made but my mate has gone away, apparently its someone's birthday tomorrow or something

I decided that the separator between the red and amber bit was going to be too restrictive when the lights are viewed from an angle so its been removed. This will give a much better line and make the viewing angle a lot better which is pretty important really

Got any ideas for the pattern you are going to do yet?
My 14a ones are still on the car, I will be doing those next (got a really cool design for them). I had the 14 ones in the garage, I bought them about 8-9 years ago to do this very conversion but never got round to it

I was expecting a one off set of boards to be expensive and I wasn't wrong!
I'm determined to do this now as I am so far down the track, I have just confirmed my order

Getting more made will be substantially cheaper but I'm not at that stage quite yet

I managed to split mine like that aswell..you can either melt the glue by putting the lights in the oven, or use a heat gun.

I used a heat gun every time, with a plastic lever and worked perfectly...just have to be very patient...

Just been told the boards are ready and will be in my mates hand shortly for assembly.

I don't think I could get any closer to the edge of my seat now. Can't wait to finally see these come to life!

The moment I have been waiting for has finally arrived

    I think they look awesome
The only down side for me is the fact that the lens breaks up the line a bit but I havnt seen them in the flesh yet. I am still extremely happy with the result though

Oh and check out the quality of these boards

I'm sorry to be the one to say this, but to me it looks a bit toyish, and not coupling with the age of the car, I'd like a more simple design, again maybe adding lights at the center garnish would look cool.

    Thanks
When you look at the photo of the two boards, its the left had one that gets brighter for brakes therefore leaving the outer double 'D' shaped section of tail light un-interfeared with and not overpowering the indicators (should keep Mr MOT happy). Not fitted to the car yet, only got one side built at the moment and its about 40ish miles away from the car
