Very interesting, I'd like to have some different tail lights too, but I was thinking about making a light in the center part too.

I had a feeling you would ask that
Unfortunately I don't, I have seen it done on others though, its quite easy on a thirteen as the text is already there. Just remove the stuff behind it a shine a light through
Im tempted to try the light tubes thigs over Christmas
Would arcylic rod be the best to use to heart up and bend? Or another kind of plastic?
Thinking about this what about fibre optic tubes that allow light out of a clear side wall?
I don't. But this sort of stuff. With a red led source would be good. Means you can follow any contour surely?

I've not had any experience with that stuff, would be interesting to see how much light it gives off. I imagine you would need a pretty serious light source to get anything more than a 'glow'. Could be an interesting, if not a little tricky method of creating glowing text though.
I wasn't going to post any more pics until I had the boards made but I just cant wait to show these off
This is the initial LED layout.

I'm not telling you which bits light up which colour, you will have to wait and see
I think its pretty obvious though
Thats awesome mate! What are you using as the backing/boards? Also are you using standard 2 pin/leg LED's or surface mount ones?
Am still planning on doing my own amber indicators using CREE smd ones.
They will be proper custom made PCBs with normal 2 leg LEDs.
Pictured above is purely a layout of the LEDs.
Looking forward to seeing this mate!
Me too
Its been an idea for too long, time to make it happen
what led's did you go with in the end?
are you etching your own boards?
