How long do you cook them for?
How long do you cook them for?
Not long really, just need to get some warmth into them to soften the glue.
I used two screwdrivers to make a gap then cut through the adhesive with a Stanley knife.
Took me about an hour in total and I was being very carefull. Will be able to do the next one quicker as I know what to expect now
i use a heat gun, going over the edges where the glue/sealant is and keep going around the light. The sealant eventually softens and then gently prise the two halfs with a screwdriver being carefull not to brake anything.
might get back on this!
Could really do with some help on designing the 'shape' of the light here people.
Anything even slightly artistic.......Im shit at
s15 but still ideas Brill-Steel-S14-V8-17-1200x800.jpg
Thanks
A little untidy but look pretty cool.
I've been playing with some images tonight and have a fairly good idea what I'm going to go for. I will post some pics once I have them laid out properly
Finally decided on a design and the prototypes will be made soon
I'm all excited now, feels like Christmas............oh, hang on
Bit of testing by my mate doing the electrickery for me
Seems quite a nice 'line' of light can be created
A (Small).JPG
have you got any pictures of the board?
Who? Me?
Not yet.
Still trying ideas.
They will have proper custom boards once the design is finalised
I wanted the 'line' to run above and below the reflector but that's proving a bit tricky at the moment
are those led's? you need to space them apart more...
Ill try and get some pics of the lights my mate and i attempted!
keep going dude
Be good to see what you did
They are LEDs, I am trying to create lines rather than dots. Like Audi and BMW have not like the wise square ones already available for the 200s
Check out Elvis Skender of StanceNation mate. He had a set of tails done for his LS400 from a dude in Japan and they're insane!!
Get him on Instagram and you'll see the videos of the different variations the LED's light up in. It's amazing!
Wow! Those are pretty insane
Will have cost megabucks too
Mine will be a touch more subtle than those
I like the tail lights on the new e class
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep I emailed him and he told me for the s14 itd be around 2000USD ahahaha
Mine are costing substantially less than that!
I agree Steve, they do look pretty trick. I thought about using defussers and 'light pipes' but it would prove a little expensive I think.
im debating weather or not to go along the lines of this video to create outlines for the rear lights. dunno if it would work but no harm in trying!

That method does work, I tried it a few years ago with some clear plastic rod I bought from my local model shop
You won't be able to get the brightness up enough to be MOT friendly if you are outlining the entire rear cluster though That's why I'm using individual LEDs to create the lines. They will be plenty bright enough for brake lights too
