got my kouki bumper on, had the subframe off today to fit a set of energy suspension poly bushes,

Really pleased with the kouki bumper, think it sets the front end off perfect. just need some paint now!

So my s14 has undertaken a rather drastic change in direction. I decided that i would swap to a 1uz. Ive always wanted something v8, for the noise, the torque and i sortof missed the throttle response of N/A.

So out with the old, and in with the new!

    bought myself a donor car

im using a collins performance adapter plate, custom flywheel, clutch and release bearing to use the standard SR20 box. Nev at F1moto has supplied all the bits. Im going to be using Spitronics standalone ECU also.

    painted the inlet manifolds

    Gearbox test fit

    trigger wheel

changed cambelt and waterpump and painted the front covers, also removed upper and lower sumps to reseal.

I got the engine and gearbox mounted this weekend.

Already had to modify the mounts as they mounted everything too far back, even after extending the slots it sits too far back so they may have to be redone.

I got a few more bits done,
the heater matrix pipes are plumbed in (not pictured) i just need to get a bleed as its the highest point in the cooling system,
i managed to plumb that in using the standard ls400 hose shortened for one hose, and a standard 200sx hose shortened for the other,
rad hoses ( standard ones fit ) but i need to move the rad forwards as the fans crush the hose against the power steering pump.
    inlet manifolds on
I'm making a bracket for the throttle cable,
and made a gearbox mount, but I'm going to do another one i think.

I got the radiator notched into the front panel today so the lower hose doesnt touch PAS pump pulley now and started wiring up the alternator, starter motor etc.

I've been waiting for my wiring loom and ECU for a couple of months now and yesterday they were finally ready, so today i got the loom all hooked up and started wiring it in. I also fitted my powder coated rocker covers and got the ignition system wired up.
unfortunately the rocker covers didn't come out in quite the right colour but they shall have to do, as i was kept waiting nearly 3 months for them.

I got the Ecu harness and fuse box wired up yesterday. So wiring wise it's all done bar my fan controller.
I've also put all the covers on. Waiting on a large delivery of elbows to get the manifolds underway, and got a powersteering line to get made up. Also need to get the bonnet to shut properly as there is a bit of contact at the moment.

Yep it's like that engine was made for the s-body.
It's fits physically with just the battery tray trimmed and the rad moved forward an inch. Mad really!

Basic design for the manifolds. That's excluding the outlet which will be a y piece put in the middle of the center pipe. Just need one more delivery and I can drop them off at the welders. Space is very limited so I'm not left with a lot of options. Especially on the drivers side. The fourth runner is so close to the steering column

    Outlets added

    They are a tight fit!

Exhausts have got to here so far, to be continued next weekend

Shallow sump and strainer fitted, sits just above the height of the front subframe which is perfect.
