    Turbo rotation quick q

I'm trying to rotate my turbo to make it top mount, the oil drain is sitting upwards towards the bonnet and the oil pipe wont reach and the oil won't drain upwards will it?
I've undone all the bolts and spun the cold side housing and that's sitting how it needs to sit but now the actuator bracket won't line up?!?

When I did it with my 2871 I had to turn both sides to get the oil drain perfectly facing dwn and water level each side and then then it all voted back up and actuator lined up ok but I used external any way

You're rotating the core not the housings

I don't get what's stopping the core turning? All the bolts are undone but the centre is locked to the exhaust housing, I have nothing more I can see to undo and very little to grip

Need to sort a bracket for the actuator or figure out how to go external wastegate cheaply and using this manifold, the actuator even if I could fix it where it needs to be the nipple for the pipe is fixed the wrong direction

I got the broken turbo elbow off

Pretty savagely snapped across the weld
That's after 5k and with a gearbox and downpipe bracket

    Weld penny shut.

    Go external wastegate.

    Look 10times better

And proper boost control. No spikes or creep etc

Tial sport F38 wastegate, screamer pipe, weld penny shut and plumb it all into my avcr
Need a length of high temp oil return pipe to flow back from turbo to lump

I got the new tial Mvs and have it water cooled with braided lines and screamer pipe, never look back at internal gates again!

You can buy hoses that are oil resistant and make one

That link clive leads to a very broken website with hardly anything on it
I found a suitable 16mm braided steel high temp line from the site tyagiracing.com
looks like the manifold has had a plate welded over the wastegate flange so im cutting that off with my dremmel

is there any need for watercooling a wastegate? seems like massive overkill on a road car

They advise water cooling the new types to lengthen the lifespan of the diaphram, it's advised if it's driven hard/tracked but this is only on the newer tial or there is the Mvs-a that's a nice bit of kit

I think I'm limited by the manifold flange to the 2 bolt type

I would of personally had it chopped off and a v-band flange welded on.

Seen too many 2 bolt flanges snap/crack around bolt holes and come loose
