    Project gripper

Been a few years since Iv been on here and since selling my last 200 Iv wanted another. So I say to myself, why not build a budget track car. And that's were the thinking stopped and my over excitement took over. Budget blown out the water, and the project began.
Full build thread coming but for now, this is were I'm at with the build. image.jpg

A friend had started a build but gave up and needed shut of his mint solid shell, so for a crate of beer I happily took it off his hands
    image.jpg
I started off thinking of building a drifter but the more time and money that went in I decided to go with what I knew, grip.
So the inside was totally ripped out of any weight and the subframes and relevant arms stripped, painted and rebushedimage.jpgimage.jpg

I will get a build thread up today hopefully and lots of pictures to go with it. And I had good intentions with the budget, but then beer got involved and plans got bigger and well you get the idea

Once all the sound deadening was stripped and cleaned it was time to test fit cage, cut dash and make the seat mounts on the floor

At this point I thought it would be a good idea to strip the loom down, how sorry I was going to be

Had a few presents thanks to my girlfriend and Bren at apex so got to work fitting them

And seen as the brakes were in I thought I may aswell get the lines in and a job ticked off

With the brakes fitted I needed wheels to clear the brakes and get it rolling again as I only had standard rims. So got the wheels ordered and rather a funky deal on some tyres
265 all round should do it
Wheels painted, tyres on and rolling again for first time in a long time

I want the car fairly quiet so I have no issues with getting on tracks so an extra silencer in and also modified exhaust down pipe so it fits snug to the bottom of car as it's getting abit close

Didn't have any room for the wider track I was planning, so I chopped the rear arches up, it's abit rough I know but Iv never done it before, it was a jump in with both feet moment, I'd do it differently if I did it again

Got onto getting the cage sprayed and fitted

And then the dash came back from flocking so the dash and carbon panel were refitted

Started looking like a nice place to sit eventually
