    Thumbs up Rev gauge temperamental.

    Evening chaps,
As above really, my rev gauge has started working on and off. Rarely it works as it should and mostly just sits at around 8k. Occasionally appears to be responding but it reads incorrect revs e.g. It reads 5k at 30mph in 4th. Car is a 2000 s14a sr20det.
Any idea as to what it could be? I'm hoping it's just something relatively cheap such as a faulty connector.
    Any help is appreciated!

Some people have had success in fixing rev counters by resoldering the joints on the back.

An old thread about it here: (watch the video it's funny)

As shown in post at bottom.

    1. Remove cluster.
    2. Remove Rev counter from cluster.
    3. Reflow all solder joints.
    4. Put rev counter back in cluster.
    5. Put cluster back in car.
    6. Test.

    Come on SXOC and say

    a. It works spot on now.
    b. Its worse can someone sell me a new cluster.

DO NOT REMOVE OR TOUCH NEEDLES.

When I was re-soldering I got some books to place the rev counter on upside down so the needle did not touch anything.
