Any Glasgow garages recommended for changing turbo gaskets?

After 105k miles the car now has the aural ambiance similar to that of a tractor!

Regardless of how easy some folks might say the job is I won't be getting my hands dirty, but I'd appreciate any shouts for places that have done the job before.

An estimate of cost would be useful, I am aware that it could be a 6 to 8 hour gig.

    Thanks
    Mark

I'm just about to do this on my car for the third time this morning! Although not for gasket issues, but in order to fit a better manifold and change the turbo.

It is an easy job, and I'd imagine it'd only take a decent garage less than 3 hours if they were making an effort and had done it before.

You might want to take the time now to consider uprating some parts while it's in pieces, like a tubular manifold, stainless turbo elbow and braided lines. Also, make sure the new gasket is a genuine Nissan one, fitted with locking nuts and genuine locking tabs.

Unfortunately, I live in Aberdeen, and so I don't know of any garages near you, sorry!

Good luck with it all, though.

Automek in East Kilbride will sort you out.

Only use genuine gaskets as has been said but keep the cast mani. Its good up to 350hp.

If you blowing then regularly make sure the exhaust has support braces and the faces are straight and clean.

Yeah, sorry. I didn't want to suggest that you should spend money unnecessarily, or to give false advice. I just personally hate cast iron, it's heavy and ugly, so the tubular is more of a style choice than anything else. :P
