    fiberglass bumper

hi, my fiberglass front bumper is cracking, i need to get it off & strengthen it.

Is there metal brackets in the bumper or just screwed into the fiberglass? If its just screwed into the fiberglass Im worried if once i take the screws out, it wont go back on.

There shouldn't be metalwork in the bumper unless it's been 'repaired' before. Get some pics up so we can see the issue.

so the screws are screwed into the fiberglass then? Is there any chance that when you unscrew the screws, the fiberglass thread will crumble & the screws wont hold when you put the bumper back on?

If there is any fixings in the GRP, they should be made of something more substantial than the bumper itself. Should be something like a metal plate (with threads tapped into it) or at least a thicker fibreglass plate.

So long as you are careful when you undo the screw, any threaded composite should be ok to re-use, assuming it wasn't over tightened in the first place
