Good fun are nt they. Like jekyl and hyde. I was travelling from poole to monmonth on sat, lots of traffic and rain. Just a pootle along nice and comfy, eventually hit chepstow and the sun came out, no traffic at all, sport on, engine revving out against the hedges, making some quick progress. Best 15 miles i've had in it.

I'm really enjoying it now. Even managed to get over 340 miles out of a £75 fill up (@£1 469ltr) which is about 30mpg

Not too shabby imho considering what you've got under the bonnet (15+ probably yr old tech etc). Not going to be checking the economy again as that's not why I got this car.

As a side note i thought I'd book it in for the fixed price health check bmw offer. The only things of note are a slight mist of fluid on the diff which is likely to be the input or output seals and a slight mist of oil on the block but seeing as it had an inspection 2 service right before i took ownership and bmw have said the level is fine I'm not worried. I think it's either the rocker cover or pressure relief valve (£30ish).

Nice to know there are no problems even though it's a well looked after car with full service history.

    First mods arrived today.

Not that exciting really but much needed imo

    http://www.andrive.co.uk/android_bmw_e46.php

Also got the factory 'relocation' panel (satnav equipped oem interior trim).

Just to get it fitted now

I have the cd only one, its still awful.
Its got no power and sounds garbage, has no mp3 support and is pathetic for a car costing the best part of 40k new.

Still, not to worry i have a 1Kw amp in the boot not wired in yet and the shitty headunit will be getting slung asap.

Time to lift the interior a little and make it more user friendly like BMW should have done in the first place

    Thanks to Storm Motorwerks

Just need to find time to fit it all now

    A littleiupdate.

Haven't got round to fitting the storm stuff as i seem to have no spare time at the moment - it's all taken up by house stuff.

Oil service will be due at the end of the month.

My interior a pillar trim has decided it doesn't want to be fixed anymore and my average mpg has gone up to 25.9 which obviously means I'm not driving it enough outside of my daily commute

Same here, I tried using a bunch of different adhesives, but so far left it hanging

How have you got that high? My clock is and always has been 20.9

I feel your pain brother. I'm about to get hit with a bill for an inspection II, new custom front discs (as my front brakes appear to have never existed anywhere on anything), an alignment and sorting my stupid rattling/buzzing exhaust out. The CD changer has stopped working so I've just bought an intravee and kca-420i to keep me going on this summer's roadtrips and just to top it off, I somehow managed to pull my drivers door handle clean off yesterday, less than a fortnight before a 'ring trip. Happy days!
