    Big Yins Daily Ignis Sport

    Hello Folks.
This is my 2nd Ignis Sport.
Picked it up yesterday for the grand total of £880 !?!?!?! Thats right under £1k I was quite surprised when I seen how cheap they had gotten.
Anyway car has done 105k miles.
Body is not perfect. But I'm not to bothered.
    Needs a few jobs done.
    • Drivers side wheel bearig
    • Passenger side lower control arm
    • Needs a service
    • Wiper blades
    • New discs and pads all round
    • Oh and fix the wires going to the boot! Nothing works haha.

    So TBF not much!
Going to replace the front brakes with EBC Green stuff and grooved discs. Back standard.
Standard service items apart from filter. Wil get an aftermarket panel filter.
Oh and I need to get rid of that gash stripe!

I will also change the tyres as a matter of course! There is only one branded tyre on it, a bridgestone. The rest are cheap tat.
Oh the baffle has collapsed in the backbox. So going to see about a complete cat back exhaust from my local exhaust shop.

Plan to lower it as well. Prob just springs. Not going down the coil over route!

I've got the control arm, wheel bearing and service items ordered.
Got an itg panel filter coming instead of a standard filter.
I've not ordered plugs yet, as I don't want to spend £50 on plugs. Going to check out the old ones first.
I still need to order my brakes. Enc green stuff and grooved discs for the front
I'm just putting standard on the rear.

Been to the local exhaust shop and he has quoted me £340 for a full custom cat back exhaust.

I'm going to carbon wrap the bottom of the front bumper as there is a hole in it. Easier to do it this way than get an actual repair.
Pretty much all the body issues I can hide apart from the dent bottom of the passenger door.

    That's my plans for now.

New head unit ordered to replace the standard one.
Got myself a pioneer deh-x8500bt coming. Bluetooth, USB, sd card etc. Oh and 3 pre outs.
    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryd_165474
Didn't get it from halfords. Got it from amazon for £120.
Going to order up some nice shiny new 10cm speakers for front and rear.
I've also got two 12' DLS subs. Only gong to use one though.

Would be interested to see what improvement you get on the brakes mate. My YRV-T has the same front Sumitomo units as the Ignis Sport and I am debating upgrade options

    I'll let you know.
Although at the minute standard would be an improvment! The brakes are truly shot!
When I had my first Ignis the standard brakes were actually pretty decent. But I was younger and I now push my cars much harder
I have opted for Mintex Grooved discs and EBC Green stuff pads. £127 delivered for both.
These should show a significant improvment.
For the rear I have opted for standard discs with EBC oem replacment pads.

    Same issue with the Ignis!
Seems I was limited to EBC Green, Yellow or Red. Project Mu. Or a Mintex, not the M1155s.

New number plates delivered to replace the manky ones on it now.
New head unit fitted. Amazing the difference just having a decent HU can make to standard speakers.
OBDii Bluetooth adaptor also delivered. I can now see what temp the engine is running. Rather than just a blue light for cold. And a red for over heating!
Just waiting on my front brakes to be deliverd from ctc performance. Then I can beast I to the car and get everything fitted in one go.

Very true. Even when I had my first Ignis and did not know much about cars. Thought it was strange there was no temp guage.

    OK
Plugs have been changed, old ones were properly dead. All 4 plugs that were taken out pretty much had no electrode left! Insane. Look like they could have been the originals!
Igniton leads replaced with Magnecor ones.
Air filter replaced with a JR performance panel filter.
    Oil and oil filter changed.
Discs and pads changed all round.
Passenger side lower control arm replaced. Had to be cut out. Took my mate 2 hours on this alone!
He also tried to change the wheel bearing. But somethin went wrong and we have had to leave that for now. Something happened to the CV joint. So I have ordered one of those now.

    Wiper blades also replaced.
And fresh new number plates also fitted.
It is amazing how much difference just putting new plates on a car can make!
Massive antena replaced with a little bee sting also. Much better looking.

Car feels much better now. Much more responsive. and quicker!
Oh and the car actually stops now as well!

    Few pics
    Very dead rear discs.

    Back brakes stripped down

Front Mintex Grooved discs with EBC Green Stuff pads

Looks so small up on the ramp!

New rear plates make so much difference!

Finally got the dirty white stripe off of the car!
Looks so much better now. Looks meaner and less chav like!
There was a marked difference in colour under the stripe compared to the rest of the body.
But my mate got that sorted out for me when he gave the car a full valet.

Well one of the new belts has started to squeel like a little school girl at a Justin Bieber gig. So I'm going to have to get back to the workshop at some point and get that tightened up!
Have developed a knock. Not sure if it is the exhaust hitting off of the car or something else.

My winter tyres have been fitted. Sticks to the road like the proverbial s**t to a blanket now.

Got some Apex springs coming as well. So will have some low on the go soon as well.

    Dirty stripe gone!

lol I said that in the post above yours.

Ive got Apex 35mm springs on the way. I'll have to cut the bump stops at the same time as fitting them. Otherwise it will be hitting them all the time.

New alloys bought for the summer.
    4 x Rare MIM "TTE Speedline" 16x6.5
These wheels were only available on TTE (Toyota Team Europe) Rally Spec Corolla G6 and G6R's.
Produced under Speedline brand by MIM Italy.
Will give me that extra bit width to fill the arches. Will look good on the 35mm drop.

Alloys. And a couple of photo shops courtesy of seller
(Photo of Ignis is not my one)

They probably would..... But I'm to lazy to clean white wheels. I hate it when my current ones get dirty,

Although my valeter mate reckons he has something to put on them that should make them easy to clean.

Just been on the Nengun site looking at stuff.
Rear panhard rod. Lower brace 1 and strut brace £240 delivered!
Wonder what import duties on those would be?
