Arch loom relocation, something abit different???

Afternoon Sxoc I'm sure this topic has been coverd 1000 before but can't find anything
What I'm after, basically has anyone run there arch loom straight out the side of the car behind the wing an up and over the inner arch, so the wheel cannot touch the loom like the picture below ???

    Where the red circle is
    Can it be done easily

    Seems a good idea,

I did mine like in the pic you posted, purely because it was quick and simple, but obviously to feed it through any hole you would have to disconnect and pull the loom back through the hole.

Did mine this way, used the original grommet and filled the hole that was left.

Yup - just run it through the engine bay. Job done.
Where ever you go, never take an idiot with you. You can be sure you'll find one when you get there.

Do you not need to extend the wires to run it through the engine bay?

If you run it through the engine bay it can still catch where it comes out of the bulkhead, moving the grommet to the side is the best way of doing it.

What he said, I probably spent the best part of 20+ hours cutting and soldering my loom and it still looks like it may catch unless i pull the loom tight from the inside and try to get it to stay as far back as possible (may still catch then) car isnt finished so havent tested it yet.

Wish I had seen something like this before I went mad with wire cutters lol.

If you go over the turret theirs no need to spend hours cutting and soldering, just spend hours unplugging and replugging the connector block

nope it reaches, the only thing you have to do is cut two slits in the hole that you feed the wire through to the engine bay, then fold the flap that the slits have created back. I welded the hole back up afterwards and used a piece of sillcone hose round the loom to stop it chaffing against the edge of the hole. my cars pretty low really and have had no issues with it still rubbing.
the whole thing took about 4 hours including welding the slits up

Done 3 S14's with this method and not had any problems. Loads better than running it through the engine bay as its impossible for the wheel to hit it. If you run it through the bay it will still hit where it goes into the bulkhead.

You dont need to extend any wiring doing it this way, all I did was unplug all the wiring inside the car, feed it through the bulkhead, drill a new hole and feed it back through. Takes about 1.30hr.
