Question Clunky/Banging/Rattly noise from gearbox when setting off.....

Its time to call on the SXOC'ers for some advise. Is my gearbox goosed?!?!

Just got the car back otr after a full overhaul.
Its track/drift setup with apex hard engine and box mounts, unsprung 6 puk clutch (needs the 500 mile run in), engine damper, solid subframe+diff mounts, bla bla bla

The issue is when pulling off the gearbox is knocking like mad
Initially I though it was the diff, then perhaps the prop, or exhaust banging agaist the subframe, or even maybe then the shortshifter so swapped back to original (couldnt see it but was just another possibility).

I'm putting it down to the clutch and hoping it will quiten down once bed in. I know as its unsprung then there is no give and the shock load on the box is alot greater. Also braided line straight from master to slave isnt helping too.

Has anybody else come across this symptom with similar setup?

I've took a video, get the popcorn out.

Is this normal behaviour for an unsprung clutch or have I got issues

    Have you got a welder?

Not seen a gearbox cause that kind of issue, its like the clutch isn't engaging properly with the flywheel, was it aligned properly?

Any other gearbox signs? Whines? Crunches? Difficulty changing gears ?

    No the diffs standard.
Thats exactly what I was thinking about the clutch. The bite isnt smooth too, the car jerks forward and slows down as if the clutch is biting and loosing grip.
No other signs too, the gearbox was perfect prior to install.
I was thinking perhaps the input shaft has pushed the spigot bearing further into the crank as I installed the box as it was a nightmare to fit. In the end I had to nip it on with four bellhousing bolts. Would explain the vibrations on bite untill clutch is fully engauged.

I'll probs just drive it until either the clutch beds in or the box lets go

Me personally I'd get a garage to pop it apart again and check over everything, I once killed a BMW 330i uprated clutch that was seated badly in 3 days and when it failed the plates had burnt to nothing

Did you have the fly skimmed when fitting the clutch?

No its a new flywheel Mark.

I'll probably drop the box off over the weekend and see that's going on.
Other possibilities are the prop doughnut bearing or a bearing in the box which I may not have noticed prior the new clutch but its now being exaggerated
