    Ive not run my 200 yet. But ive done a 11.67 in my old mk2 escort and a 12.11 in my anglie 100e. With the help of my father in law and a very special 2.4 pinto we are hoping to get into the 10s.

    I ran a 13.9 at north weald with a terminal speed of 116 mph, car was stage 1. Last run of the day eat a valve! limped home on 3 cylinders.

    I have rather hard time believing some of your terminal speeds. Either some of you remember the speeds wrong or there is something seriously wrong with my car.

    I ran 12.915s @ 112mph last saturday. And last dyno result was ~420hp. Either I'm missing 100hp or some of your speeds are not correct...

    This is always about start... I did 12.4s and the same day same car when the start was not so good 13.5s, my car is 361hp, I actually did 12.9s when I had 336hp but all this with OS Giken gearbox internals. that is what makes the difference I think.
    I have 4th gear somewhere around 5-6 thous. rpm. at finish line and I remember I had 3rd gear on max with standard gearbox...

    It's not the ET I think is wrong here. It's the terminal speed. That is mostly about the power, the start shouldn't effect it too much...

    I just looked at old timing slips and when I ran 12.9s I had similar speed as you 113mph
    13.33s@107.8mph
    13.51s@108.07mph
    13.26s@113.46mph
    13.05s@113.31mph
    13.27s@113.46mph

    Yes there is something seriously wrong with your car, imho it aint even close to 420 hp

    I have done several drag days at a couple of different venues and got similar results, the last with 300bhp and 350ish foot was 109mph or there abouts which was bang on for the rest of the runners and that was with a low 13 sec time as i mentioned in my first post.

    With a properly setup 400+ and good launch i would expect 12s and 120+ imho.

    Were those all run with the same power?


    I did a few runs and the terminal speeds were very close on every run.

    13.644s@180.123km/h (111.923mph)
    12.915s@181.033km/h (112.489mph)
    13.381s@159.073km/h (98.843mph)(missed the fourth gear and just rolled to the end...)
    13.063s@181.033km/h (112.489mph)

    That's what I thought... Will have to start looking into it. Strange thing is that it feels like it's running well. Didn't feel like there was anything wrong on any of the runs I did.

    Most of my runs gave similar terminals, so when i ran 300 bhp i was seeing 107-109 usually with not much difference -
    The time could change a lot between runs due to better or worse launches (say by as much as half a second) but generally the terminals didnt move more than 1 or 2 mph.

    The s14 is particulary good at decent terminal speed, its got a huge amount of mid and a good top end.
    I mind racing 2 cars at the last drag day, an rx8 and an modded sti. Both got off the line quicker than me by a fair bit but both went backwards later.
    The rx8 was passed halfway through 3rd like it was standing still and the sti was passed just shy of the line quite rapidly. Both had decent times but were quite a way off my terminal.

    I just did a few runs to the redline with third gear and AFR's were 11.5-11.7 on the top end just where they have been tuned. And it held boost at the set 1.6bar to the end aswell. So no apparent problem there.
    Maybe I need to install Nistune and do a logged run to dig a bit deeper...

    On My runs I changed diff and few mods and I have now so many time slips that I can not remember what setup I had on each of them, currently have 361hp, nismo diff, power FC- will change this to Link G4+ very soon to get launch control,
    OS Giken gears, gt2871r, step 2 HKS cams+springs,
    my best so far is 12.4@117.3mph on street tires.
    racing UK national drag racing champ. in Sportsman ET
    I am 6th so far, but 3 rounds to go...
    It is difficult to be consistent with our cars....

    Took some logs with Nistune and MAF voltage seems to peak at bit over 4.7V (Z32 MAF). According to SR20 forum that would be close to 380whp. So I guess judging by that I might actually still have close to that 420hp at crank? But something must be causing the low terminal speeds...

    Might be going for another run this weekend to see if I still get same results...

    380whp should get a low 12s or high 11s run with somewhere around 120mph terminals

    Not with stretched normal street tyres. (275 on 12" rims)... But I was expecting close so 120mph terminals.

    Shouldn't really make any difference to the terminal speed.

    Yeah shouldnt make a lot of difference for the terminal, ok the time yeah but not the terminal.
    Get it on a dyno.
