Boost drop and exhaust popping more than usual

Hi, I noticed that the SX isn't boosting as it should earlier. I went for a car wash then when I left the car wouldn't boost over about 0.25bar forsome reason, plus the exhaust is giving a loud pop when I'm changing gear - it does this sometimes but almost without fail now since boost issues. It feels like the car is 'wanting' to make the correct boost but it's being blocked somewhere, if that makes sense.

I know this isn't much information to go on but thought I'd stick this up while I have a nosey about the turbo and mani for anything queer just in case something's just popped off or similair.

Is it just one pop or several at once? A bit like anti lag on a rally car for example?

Would I be right in thinking it may just be a boost leak lads...? lol

I'm new to this turbo malarkey so cheers for being kind of gentle! Thanks for the pointers as always lads I'll get on it. Just quickly - is there a good way to do a leak test DIY or would a garage with a specific leak tester be the best bet?

I made a boost leak tester out of an empty WD40 can and car tyre valve...
Then you just need compressed air...

As above just find things around the house to block up the pipes

Nice one, would I be right in thinking that I'm looking to block up the inlet just before the throttle body?

Well in everyone, driving from B&Q where I was wanting to buy a 6'' length of downpipe to make a leak detector (but was told I could only buy 2.5m, even though I offered to buy a 6'' length for the full price...) I hit one of those dips in the road that covers the whole side I was driving on - next thing I know I hear a 'tinkle tinkle' and see a bastarding bulldog clip sitting on the road behind me - unfortunately before I could do a u-turn and retrieve it 2 cars drove over it.

Boost leak it is though lol

Thing is the sx has a brilliant boost leak detector built in.

If it runs shit its likely a boost leak, the car tells you so much. There you go, you have a leak - Somewhere!
