    Fast 'n' Loud F40

Anyone been watching the current series of Fast 'n' Loud? They took this ruined F40 that really was only good for parts (chassis completely bent)...

    ...and did this to it:

I was really dubious to start with when they said they were going to do it up "Fast 'n' Loud style" rather than returning it to original but I think it turned out really well, especially considering they're a bunch of Texas cowboys

The restoration is over two shows and is definitely worth watching. Not quite Overhaulin' for the technical detail/quality of workmanship but probably a bit more fun

I like that show too, the guys on it are great

Not seen that one though, will have to watch.

I also quite like that counting cars, again the characters that work at the place are all a bit out there and make it more interesting, plus some of the bikes and cars they put together are awesome.

Oh to have that much cash!

It's nice easy watching isn't it. Unlike American Hotrod which just focused on moaning and yelling lol.

How cool was the little fire truck on counting cars .

And a snip at just $295,000 for parts and labour to restore - the bonnet/front clamshell alone cost $35,000

But for one of the best cars in the world, it's got to be worth it.

Yeah, I was just amazed at the Ferrari tax on everything I guess - $7k for a windscreen, for example.

The wreck cost them $400k to begin with. To say Richard was nervous is a big understatement

Yeah, Ferrari prices are crazy but lets face it, that front clam is all carbon fibre and is hand made one off to re-produce.

$400k for the wrecked car, ouch.

I think it came out amazing, when they put the painted body back together it really looked the part.

Must have taken some balls to go black with it tho.

    Discovery channel at some point.

They ran the series backwards in the UK to make things seriously confusing so I dunno if/when it will be on.
Can catch it online thru a catchup service or something.

Has this been aired? Watching the new series on discovery but not seen or heard of this. What do you mean by they ran the series backwards? Seems to flow well enough?

I like the fact that it's been restored but it seems a bit silly spending £450k on a written off one rather than £350-450k on an original one

Yeah well - the whole show is a bit silly really, I'm always dubious about the figures they quote, but it makes good TV.

In the end his mate bought it off him, which is I suspect what they were planning all along.

It's only just been aired in the US, I watched it online at a mate's house (he loves his Yank reality shows).

That said, it's nice that someone did spend £450k restoring it rather than it being used for parts

How is it tho that they jigged it, got the chassis to within 1mm of Ferrari spec and the engine mount was still half an inch off??

Quite. And they had to hammer a dent for the brake light switch. That chassis really was scrap.

Still, make do and mend, it's not like you can buy a new chassis
