Lost the fuel gauge harness in the tank!!
Hi today I was working at the fuel pump and I think to have lost the fuel gauge harness, the one that comes from the bottom of the fuel tank to the fuel gauge unit (sender).
Anyone can help ? Is there a way to take it out without removing the tank?
Many thanks

It is a long time since I did mine, but from memory you can reach a long way down the tank, the punp and pick up dock are quite low anyway.
Fish around with your arm, or use a hook to go fishing - avoid anything that could spark though for christ's sake. Paranoid about working on fuel systems after seeing the results of a mates garage fire.

I checked the S14 manual, page FE-3 and there is something there. Underneath the left rear passenger seat, and clearly connected to the top of the shallow part of the fuel tank.
What is it ?

I need to rip that sender thing out of mine for a clean up, last time I was in there I gave up as it seemed fixed and couldn't work it out easily. Is it going to be possible to remove clean out with brake cleaner and replace?

Yeah, you can reach pretty much to the end of the tank - or it may just be my gibbon arms.
It's definitely possible to retrieve something like, oooh, say, a ratchet, if you were to drop it in the tank and it went all the way to the bottom. Apparently.

switch that turns on the 'low fuel' warning light seems sensible.
