I personally wouldnt risk it anyway, Its a long way to go to be told no.

cages are fine, If your door bars come up higher than your wheel thats a no no.

No worries, Also make sure your cage is padded at any point where you could come into contact with it. Other wise you may end up having to buy some padding there for many, many euros

JJC race and rally tend to be pretty well priced

This was posted in the official Nürburgring GmbH section of the German TF forum:

    Neuerungen bei den Touristenfahrten 2013

Hier nun die Änderungen bei den Touristenfahrten 2013:

    What's New in 2013 Touristenfahrten.

Here are the changes in tourist trips 2013:

    1. Ban ears seats (driver and passenger) and upgraded non-standard removable steering wheels. These measures will be introduced with a waiting period until 30.04.2013.

    2. Wearing HANS is not allowed.

    3. Drifting is prohibited.

    4. Built cages must be padded. The side protection e.g. Crosses door is built in cages still permitted, provided they do not impede the entry and exit much.

Nürburgring GmbH, in collaboration with an expert, continues, as in the past, with technical controls at the entrance.
