    Can a EX Temp Gauge be used for Water temp??

    Hi Guys,

    I just picked up one of these;

    As you can see the digital read out is for Exahust temp.

    I was wondering if I replaced the ET sensor with a water temp one would the gauge read correctly?

    As the output is just done on resistance am I right in assuming this could work?

    Any help appreciated

    It'll be calibrated to work with a specific k-type thermocouple, I don't think you'll be able to make it display the lower temperatures

    I'd recommend you to use it measuring EGT. A water temp gauge and sensor is cheap enough to buy separately.

    Cheers Guys.

    I've already got a water temp gauge, was just wondering if I could clean up my centre console a bit by just having the one gauge.

    Cheers,

    Timmo
