    Important announcement from Insure-Shop

I have been asked to post this by Paul Thomas at insure-shop.co.uk

    SX Insurance Scheme

Please could place an advisory note on your website (IE forum) with regards to insurance (Insure-shop sx scheme)

Please note the scheme has been withdrawn for new business with immediate effect, this is due to Rob Timms is no longer working for the company, basically he was underwritting the risk on behalf of the insurers with his knowledge of nissans and various modifications.

Therefore the insurers will only honour existing cases, renewals will be invited and they are prepared to price match on a like for like basis subject to a copy of a written quotation.

May I take this oppprtunity to thank your site and your members for the past enquires and business written to date.

    Paul Thomas - Insure-shop

Thats means come June, I'm gonna get screwed with the renewal. They were the cheapest for me, even for an unmodified sx. Now that its modded............

They where the cheapest for me with my mods. They only beat HIC by a small amount, but with a lower excess as well. Looks like I'll be going to HIC next time round.

Flux beat both HIC and insure shop by ~£300 for me, try them. I've heard they're tw@s when/if it comes to making a claim though.

Sh*t. He was the cheapest for me by miles cause I'm only 22. Does this mean all they will do, come renewal time, is match the cheapest quote you get somewhere else? I think you might see my car up for sale in the next month or two. Where is he working now, does anyone know him? Bo**ocks. Bo**ocks. Sh*t. Damn.

    I'm with them

Much cheaper than Flux for me

I thought peeps on here find Greenlight good?

Out of Flux, Greenlight and HIC (if you can ever get through ) most peeps shouldn't have a problem

Wouldn't it be possible to get a quote from somebody else based on what you currently pay and submit this to IS at renewal time to keep the price down

Not quite what they mean and a bit sneaky but might work

I pay £700+ and thats quite enough, considering I haven't made a claim ever in 12 years

yeah L&V where ok for me, but despite what everybody else seems to say they didn't give "free" mods cover.

Please explain this m8!!! Im with LV and was catigoricaly informed that I could have ANY mods (apart from capcity increases) at no further cost and only needed evidence of them when/if I claimed. And Im paying £624 FC, 28 years old and no NC.

    Thanks

I'd be interested to know Who you are actually with, L&V may be the broker by who is the policy actually with, who are the underwriters (on your policy document)

Well its a bit off topic, and is in a thread in the insurance section, but...

I read on here that mods ok apart from capacity increase.

Oh good I think, Call them......

    > so you don't charge for mods, only capacity increase

    > No we charge for all power mods

    > But I've been told...

    > No we charge for all power mods

    > Has this changed recently then?

    > No Always been this way, we don't charge for suspension mods.

    > you're sure about that?

    > Yes we charge for ALL POWER MODS

So I don't know whats going on. But this does seem very strange, to not charge for power mods. So I think its a misunderstanding between those quoting (probably not clued up) and the policy holder (you)

As a result I didn't take it out. Their price was the closest to IS (who also refer mods etc)

Insure shop wanted to charge me £120 extra to have a dv, turbo timer and boost gauge. So I changed to Adrian Flux and saved a lot of money.
