I really should go to a track but I would rather ride a schools bike so if I stack it I don't kill my own

At club level you can get close up to the bikes and chat to the teams about parts and stuff. As long as it's not raining...

Can someone enlighten me? I'm about to order a new helmet, I'm getting an AGV. I know what size I need but I would like some thicker cheek pads to snuggen it up a bit around my face. This might be a silly question but are the XS pads thickest or are the XL pads thickest?

To know that, you'd need to know the shell size. Have you tried other helmets on ? Arai are a similar shape and might give you a better fit.... Unless you have a very odd shaped head lol

What shell size are you buying ? If L and XL share the same shell then XL pads will be thinner than L pads. XS pads might be the same thickness as say the L pads but in a smaller shell.

I don't like the way Arai fit me so I must have a daft head

    I'm having a ML size.

If its one of the helmets they do in 2 shell sizes, ML will be the larger shell with the thickest padding.

Any padding you buy for another size will be thinner.

    Unlucky.

Shark are another manufacturer that make shells in the same basic shape as Arai and AGV.

Can I ask why you want more cheek padding ? Usually, when I've seen anyone try on a new helmet, they look like a hamster anyway. Adding more padding would just exaggerate the "squashed face" look.

Yeah it's not THAT hamstery neither was my old one which was a Caberg. I just thought it would be nice to snug up a bit :>

The GT Veloce is a 4 shell design so I guess you need to ask in a shop.

The question to ask is "Does this helmet come in a smaller size with the same shell size as an ML ?"

If it does, you may be able to order up cheek pads that are for the smaller size.

I don't know what they would charge though

Ahh alright I'll give that a go cheers. I think they're about 40 quid for a set of pads.

So, as well as fixing the tickover by cleaning the filter, changing the plugs (to the right ones), sealing the broken foam on the airbox, adding 10 psi to each of the tyres to bring them up to snuff, I've done a quick sketch of the paintjob I had in mind.

    Opinions ?

It would look just a little different with race bodywork but the bike has roadgear on at the moment so that was the picture I started with.

When I saw that, I thought Bimota !

Turns out my custom paintjob isn't all that original

    and many more like it.

Unfortunatly there probably isn't much left that is original. I thought about BSB colours but they seem pretty similar again

It can depends though, are you set on the red and white combo?

If you like the red and white how about your own take on an old school Marlboro scheme?
