2 lads at work have thunder cats & love them. One uses his thunder cat all the time and leaves his mint r1 in the shed.

My Fazer is 12 years old with very nearly 50k on the clock and looks like a heap of shit Only bits I've bought from a dealer was the last oil change (more expensive than somewhere like Opie but not extortionate) and a sprocket nut which was reasonable.

If you do go for a Thundercat check how thick the front sprocket nut is. If it's 9mm, replace it with the 12mm one.

I'm thinking something similar to this for a first bike. Providing it suits my height.

I tried to get one for my first bike and the insurance was a rape in comparison to most "non sports" bikes, the monster was £96/yr where as they wanted £450 for one of them or a r6/gsxr600/cbr600rr etc...

with 1 yrs no claims I pay £230 for the 'blade, its worth getting a naked style bike for a year just for the savings

I think this would be my problem with a sports type bike and the reason I'd buy a supermoto were I in the market for a road bike. Well, that and I find them great fun

I had a sit on an urban tiger 'blade we got for the engine (you'll have to wait & see the outcome ) and it was horrible, I'm 6'7-8".

    Rearsets may be an option.

The bloke that sold me my Sprint was trying to get me to buy a Falco 1000 twin - I couldn't get anywhere near fitting on it and it was just hugely uncomfortable so he suggested I buy some. Yeah, I'll buy them just so I can test the bike properly, NOT

I'm now beginning to think that a supermoto might be a better option for me as a first bike. Having had many off road/motocross bikes, it's a seated position I am comfortable with. Also, they seem to cater for very tall people. Ktm's seem to be a popular choice.

Thats odd. Im 5' 10'' with a 32" inside leg and I had absolutely loads of room on my Daytona. It was the fact I was standing on tip toes with it that caused me problems. I wouldn't have thought a few extra inches on the inseam would cause a tall rider any problems.

Paddy, see if you can sit on one before discounting them.
