    New lid day

Went out to get a agv k3 in guy martin colours, but they had this for £30 less than the transition visor on its own, so took a punt... My Mrs has transition lenses in her glasses and they are really good, so hope the visor is the same

    Nice one.

    The season's starting....

WSBs this weekend and I'm collecting my new project tomorrow, all being well.

I'm just about to set off to Romford to collect the KTM. All of 14 miles - should only take me 2 hours by public transport

    Here's the good...

    Hel brakelines

    M16 stubby (feckin loud though)

    PC5 mapped for the can....

It's also wearing almost new M7RRs which are good enough for my road testing.

    Goes pretty well

Oh, another plus is the good quality crash bungs all round so that's saved me £50

Not sure what to do about the stuff I take off. I could sell it but if, when I come to sell, I decide to take off the bling that's going on and sell it separately, I'll need replacements to go back on the bike.

I expect to have quite a few bits coming off....everything from the rear subframe back, all the bodywork, everything in the nosecone except the clocks, all the controls.

And I need to decide a paintjob too. I have two ideas at the moment. Either a Maverick Suzuki racing blue or an Italian themed tricolore job based on this...

I'd keep all the standard bits but knock on immediately all the tat. When you come to put it back to standard, finding a seat (assuming you're going race seat anyway) and a pair of levers won't be that difficult. Finding bits of bodywork almost certainly will be.

Colour wise - tough choice, TBH. I like that Tricolore style but I can't get my head around a Suzy in that sheme.

I'm going to mock it up using CorelDraw before I commit to it as the bike is obviously a different shape. I think it could work though as part of a build focused around italian parts. Chili rode for Suzuki after all

The Maverick colour scheme is nice but a bit ...well...predictable. Whenever I see a modern design on an older bike, I just think wannabe.

I love candy red and white and I think the design will need a pinstripe to stop it looking blocky. I hope I can make my own design based around the tricolore one that works with the lines of the 2005 Suzuki. I might even do the green stripe a different colour so its not tricolore at all. If it doesn't work, I'll just go back to the drawing board. I could even do the race bodywork in 2005 Anniversary colours with stick-on decal headlights

Personally I don't think the Italian colours suit a Japanese bike...... But the tricolour style with suzuki yellow and blue swapped for the Green and red stripes would be cool

Oooo, that's something I hadn't thought of ! I'll drop you a line when I'm close to painting. May not be for a while yet.

I spent a few hours last night playing spot and fix the bodge and it's obvious that it needs some basics doing before I add bling.
Even before that it needs a JW style deep clean
