whats a good replacement aerial for my S14a?

    hey guys anf gals.

i managed to break my aerial today on my 14a, and was wondering is there any replacements that have, like a stumpy aerial, that will fit straight on? reason for going stumpy is because i have a carbon spoiler on the boot, and if i raise the boot with the engine running and radio on, it hits the spoiler. hence breaking it today. lol!!

any help will be greatly appreciated

    cheers

    riggsy

Will the S2000 aerial cover the old hole properly?

    That look smart!!

I want to rip mine off completely as its huge. Can you get an internal one that will have good signal? How easy is it to do?

Yeah the S2000 covers the old hole BUT you need to make it a little bigger with a file for a perfect fit.

Took me 10 mins to get it fitted and another 10 mins to connect it all up in the car.

I tried the internal units but they were shite Mat.

Vidal did you need the whole aerial unit or just the aerial itself?

    i.e. this...

    or this...

You will need the full unit mate,

I got the bottom part from a breaker and ordered the top part (antenna) from ebay as it was missing on the breaker.

Is it possible to disable the aerial, whilst having the cd player on? dont really need an aerial, if all that you listen to like me, is usb music or cds!.

I did, I put my aerial on a switch, found which wire it was at the back of the radio harness bit that powers the aerial motor (think it's a blue wire) and just put a switch in between. I used the front fog light switch cos I don't have front fogs anymore. Just flick the switch when I want to use the radio and up goes the aerial.

Is the honda S2000 aerial powered/amplified? In other words, does it give decent reception?

    Depends on your head unit.

The standard Sony one will only put the aerial up when you're listening to CDs if you have traffic announcements turned on.
