Just used the online quote and it came out at £84. Not bad but that's only for one day and added to the cost of the event, petrol, food, wear and tear etc. these track days aren't cheap. Question is though, if I put down that my vehicles worth £12k does that mean that's what I'll get if it's totally written off on track? Does the cover cover you for the replacement of parts? Say for instance my turbo blew up. Could I claim for a new one? I assume that every time you claim, like with any insurance, your premium rises because of the claim? Last question, do you offer a price for the year for any number of track days?

I'd also assume that you can't claim third party on track? Probably as not everyone will have insurance and a racing incident is a mutual thing with no individual at fault.

But you're not 'racing' on a track day as that would invalidate the tracks insurance

I believe you are covered for 3rd party damages as a matter of course but your insurance company would seek to claim all costs back either through you or the 3rd parties insurers if deemed fault lies with them

read through the policy conditions, it appears it wont cover wear and tear ie mechanical failure, would only cover you if you are in a colision - assuming running out of driver talent and binning it into a wall wont be cover either.

I should imagine that as with any track day policy, if you describe anything as a racing incident when you have elected to take cover for a track day then your policy will be void. I'm not being pedantic, I hope you understand, but there are specific race insurances from the same provider.

You won't be covered for wear and tear on your car. As I understand all your track policy covers you for is damage to your own car as long as it's not deliberate/result of wear and tear/due to bad maintenance etc.

That price is pretty good for a policy to be honest. Just bear in mind the excesses on policies like this are often several thousand pounds.

It's a good product, it just comes down to personal preference on taking it out.

    Hi,

the insurer underwriting this is a specialist, they will look at the market value of the vehicle but will also look at the bigger picture, eg modifications rarity etc.

    Mechanical damage is not covered.

NCB is not effected by a claim using our trackday product however check with your own insurer. If insured via Sky Insurance on our car club scheme, it will not effect the price you pay.

As it stands , there is no further discounts available for multiple trackdays but this is a very new product and we will take all feedback and requests on board. Feel free to request this via the website's contact us form:

Thanks, it is personal choice, my opinion is, low value cars- you bend it you mend it, if you have a higher value car or cannot afford to repair then take trackday cover.
