So what game/s are you going to be putting this through its paces with first?

Ive chucked in my mates copy of crysis and put everything on max and had 1 or lines appear every now and then so will knock that off a tad.
And for shits and giggles I put company of heroes in on max and got an average of 280 fps on my 30" monitor.
Need to get a copy of bf3 to start playing that.
What are you playing mate? Need some people to have some games with

Still playing a bit of DayZ and Arma 2. Just finished Assassins Creed 3 and now playing Colonial Marines (everyone hates that game but I genuinely like it for some reason!).
Once that's done I'm either going to crack on with Max Payne 3 or replay FarCry 3, not sure yet
The trouble I have is that I keep buying bargains in Steam sales so now have too much to choose from!
The lines on Crysis aren't a v-sync issue are they? Could maybe sort that without backing off the settings etc?

That reminds me, I need to have a go of dayz.
V-sync?
Im currently using my xbox hdmi cable with a screen ratio of 1920x1200 if that makes a difference?

It's to do with refresh rates I believe, if the monitor doesn't refresh at a high enough rate for the game it can cause 'tearing'. V-Sync effectively locks the gram rate to try and prevent it. Should have an option in the menu somewhere, try switching it on/off and see if it makes any difference
As an example, Colonial Marines was tearing all over the shop on my TV. Switched on v-sync in the settings and problem solved. Didn't have any issues with AC3 though.
DayZ is worth a play, I love it but my mate finds it boring as there isn't much to 'do' as such, although that's why I like it as you kind of make it your own experience rather than have objectives forced on you.

Yep, as Delboy says, it's a refresh-rate problem where the monitor is running at a lower rate than the graphics card. Either get a 120Hz monitor or enable VSync for a smooth 60Hz experience .

As for v-sync, normally an option in the video settings of the game. Not sure if there is another way if that option isn't there.

Just looked through the 3DMark spec report you posted, you may want to check your memory clock speed is set up correctly in your BIOS, looks a bit low at 667Mhz!

Yeah I noticed that, will have a look tonight when I get in

Get that 7950 overclocked.

I plan to, just doing a bit if research.
Any useful links?

No need for links or research for a video card overclock (at least a modest one).
AMD provide the facility inside there drivers, just turn on overdrive and wang it right up.
If you want to go further then yeah, you need to look into something like Sapphire's TRIXX which is pretty good and allow you to really stick some MHZ on the GPU (it also has voltage control).
Ohh and the CPU needs clocking as well, every time someone runs a build at stock clocks God kills a kitten.

Haha
I'm going to be overclocking mine soon as well, seems rude not to really!

Ahh I think ive seen somthing along those lines in the ati catalyst control center.
When I turnt it on for the first time it automatically oc'd the cpu to 4.2 ghz so should be ok, is theirany good software for monitoring temps and voltages ?

Catalyst control centre overdrive option will have no effect at all on the cpu as they are totally different things.
