It's too nice to do that to. You'd have to just put up with the fact it's a gutless Capri.

It seems like strong money to me, too, for what it is. Alright, fair enough, it's clean as, but there's beefier models out there for not a lot more money.

    No and No

As Arry says it's too nice. Now if it were a rusty shell I'd say have at it.

my mate has one rusting on his drive, a 1.6 is Maroon/brown with a bit of mould green. he bought it for £500 a couple of years ago, with the idea of getting it running.

I have thought about fitting an SR20 to a MK2 Escort or a Cossie, but obviously would have to win the lotto, Ron I could lend you £6k but the interest rate would be higher than a bank lol.

I slap you both with a kipper, be gone from here

Do like a nice Manta though.

Going to contradict myself somewhat here as well and say I quite liked the CA Capri on here

    Yeah, needs a YB

What it doesn't want is a big straight six hanging over the front axle. Lot of money for a 1.6 Laser (doesn't say it's 2.0 anywhere so I'm assuming the worst).

I'd be OK with someone fitting a CA18 to it

Can't see the problem. 200bhp + in a light chassis what's not to like?

Let it go it's a decent power plant all be it a bit poor in the noise department.

It's not the engine per se, more the fact you'd be ripping up an original capri to fit it, where there's no heritage to support that choice. As Pete says, a YB would be more 'appropriate' if you were going to do anything like that.

The Capri with the CA in it mentioned above I liked - mainly as the shell was a bit ratty. Couldn't do that to a clean one, though.

I'd never suggest doing it to the one in the link above as it's far too clean. Think the ford boys would hunt anyone who did that down and kill them anyway
