Carbon Fibre hatch

In the near future I will be wanting a carbon fibre hatch for my 180sx. Mainly because they look SWEET lol

I will be looking for the best quality/fitment of one. What are people's experience with makes for fitment ie SRB Power/Seibon/Chargespeed etc

I have a carbon hood from Seibon. It is excellent in quality and fitment.

The fenders from Chargespeed are also very good (ordinary frp)

I have an srb and it seems to fit ok only thing is there are no holes for the boot latch and also that you have to do away with struts if you run the lexan window

Shogun, did you lose the ability to use the gas struts too with the Seibon one?

I didn't even think about all this.

Do you all ditch the boot release too and HAVE to use catches (aerocatch for example)

I use hood dampers. Working well.

I run stock release. Small pilot hole then self tap it in however i will advise aerocatches as they will clamp it better. I shall be gettin some once i have my spoiler and work out where to put them lol

Swiftmini on here had a carbon srb hatch with lexan window for a sale a while back if thats of any interest. Not sure if he still has it though.

I have had a Chargespeed boot on my car for about 5 years now. the fit and finish was perfect.....to start with, but over the years the clear coat has faded a bit. Not sure if its something I have inadvertently done to it or just age related but it comes back up for a few days if you slap a bit of wax on it. Other than that one of my strut mounts threaded on it, most likely user error

ive got a charge speed frp hatch. when i first fitted it there was something rattling around inside it which drove me mad.i cut a decent size hole in the underside of it and pulled out a bit of cardboard the size of a beer mat with chinese/jap writing on it covered in resin. there is some the same wedged inside my bonnet where the latch is.

Which hood dampers did you use shogun? As the pic has decided to disappear!

It was a group buy we had at Nissan Owners Group Sweden some years ago.

I do not remember the brand but it is nothing special about the dampers. You could get similar at Frsport, ebay, autobahn888 etc. There are plentiful suppliers.

Does anyone have a carbon boot, with lexan window in, if so what are you using to support the boot when open??
