S14a Project (Manual all the way)

    Hi guys,

Im back from the depths of VAG owners and back with another Saph blue 14a.

Bought this on wednesday from Phoenix on here and i have started to sort bits out, its generally in ok condition but needs fair bit of work to get it to my standards. The work has begun..

First of all, removed the tinted front indicators(yuk):

Then decided i should get some new rubber on the back, it was extra slippy in the rain:

Then, i decided to remove (what i think are chavy looking lights) the smoothed lights, which are now for sale:

More to follow as i have been doing little bits each day..

S14a Project (Manual all the way)

    Next,

I decided to clean the awful, awful seats.. in great condition, just filthy.. this was with the front panel cleaned:

Can clearly see just how dirty they were, i havent got a finished picture, but the rest of the seats came up exactly like the front panel( took the whole day)

Then, took the boot carpets out and they were very dirty and bobbly:

The after a lady shaver(borrowed haha) and some cleaner, they looked like this:

    Good as new!

Then got chance to use my new shiny snap on goodness to undo the bolts holding on the nasty square reg plate:

Then it finally looked like this (weak ass front wheels i know, but there on the list of changes):

However, the rears look alot better:

I would guess about £50 really, although, no idea what they go for....

I used auto glym leather cleaner with a scrubbing brush, scrubbed like mad the wiped of the residue!

Then treated them with auto glym cream leather treatment!

Also I employed an over qualified Dr. Girlfriend to do the passenger seat!

    Haha!

    Ok so today's update:

The wiper arms look awful, totally awful! So i pulled them off, sanded them and then paint them! both fronts and the rear..

It rained half way through spraying so the front drivers arm is not as good as i wanted, but will do it again when its dry.

    Before:

    The rear one painted:

    Half and Half:

    Complete, sprayed the caps aswel:

Sand, Prime and Spray, its a Cheap Matte black paint that i used but comes up well.

Just used a hair dryer to get each coat nice and warm to aid the hardening and adhesion.

    'Ladyshave'!

Good work, must do my wiper arms too.

Actually what size is your front reg plate? That looks like the size I'm after, I have a full sized one stuck on the protruding bit of the bumper at the minute.

    It's 3/4 size mate!

Probably the best size to go for, least lithely of getting pulled over ha!

I used to have a smaller one on my old 14a

Ok so more work done again today...

Firstly i went hunting around the boot to find a leak, which was from the light cluster on the passenger side, the boot had some water in it! so swapped a light!

Then, i swapped my side repeaters from orange to clear:

I gave it a very good clean which was needed, going to machine polish over the weekend, but just a few photos of her clean:

Then hoping to get rid of these:

I really dont like them so im after a swap with someone if anyone is interested?
