Rust update ... she's off to get welded up! Auto Classico spend their time rebuilding classics and keeping old jags on the road, plus they're only a few miles away. Should hopefully get it back in a few weeks...

Sounds like it’s in safe hands, it’s a nice feeling once it’s done

Good stuff
Mad it's only done 24k miles since I sold it 10 years ago!
Yeah, she's been a bit neglected over the last 4 or 5 years, it's barely left the garage. That's about to change... though it's a track car now and won't be driven daily.
Been spending a bit of time re-undersealing, tidying up the interior, getting everything properly sorted. Pics to follow.

Major update!
After a busy few years with me away a lot for work, over the last 12 months I've knuckled down and got the car essentially finished (for now...).
Started with a failed MOT in Sep 18, predominantly because of rusted sills stemming from some poor repairs and treatment in the past.
Got this sorted to a very high standard in Feb. Now the outer sills look like this (side skirts to go back on):
This was previously more hole than metal:
The garage also found some work to do around the rear wheelarch, which was all sorted.
With all the structural repairs complete I spent a bit of time addressing any blemishes on the underside and re-undersealing with Hammerite Waxoil. The subframes and suspension will need to be re-powder coated one day but the chassis is now looking sweet:
In parallel, I made a Mk2 gauge panel using a 3D printed blank bought from the US via Ebay.
I cut the holes and made a plate to hold the AVCR:
Wrapped it in some carbon-esque vinyl, which looks a bit shit but less shit than the 3D printed finish:
I built a custom control unit which take the Stack gauge alarm triggers and activate a buzzer and flashing LED installing on the roll cage a-pillar (in addition to the gauge flashing itself - which I'm worried I'd miss with a helmet on):

Whole thing assembled:
Installed:
Then I stripped the interior paint because I was getting weird reactions from previous Hammerite touching up. Utter pain in the arse!
Etch primed and drainage holes covered by some bonded-in some aluminium blanks:
All painted up with Rust-oleum Hard Hat Satin Black (way better than Hammerite!):
Made some treadplates for the footwells:
Also made some blanking interior panels out of lightweight foamboard:
Re-wrapped and re-ran the interior loom), installed seats and harnesses.
Done a few shake-down runs and she's absolutely flying.
Also decided to weight the car via 12x cheapo Argos scales and some woodwork.
1210kg, 57:43 weight distribution. Bit disappointed with the weight, but to be expected given the full cage I guess. I'd like to get it below 1150kg one day, and even off the weight distribution a little, perhaps via GRP wings, battery relocation and ABS delete. But for now I just want to use it.
So she's back. First real test will be Blyton Park on 14 Sep. This is the first time she's been on track in 5+ years and since then I've changed a tonne of stuff.
Plan now is to get a few trackdays done and then think about some BC coilovers (with DIY corner-weighting, of course).
Top work mate, the interior looks great

You wanna watch that chequer plate dont fall out while driving down the road mate. Loads of sparks and it could go flying away!!
Good update, looking great! I was beginning to think it was just gathering dust somewhere. Hope it goes well at Blyton!

Yes Davey! How'd it go mate?
Cool! No issues with noise then?
I quite like my BC's. Sure there's better suspension but for the money it's hard to beat imo. I never found my ABS intrusive. It deleted itself on track and I quickly learnt to drive without so removed it later. Free's up some space around the turbo but I wouldn't be in any rush to bin it unless it's misbehaving.
Doesn’t it play up if you spin out? I know a lot of people disable it for track work
