    Not sure about that!? I didn't realize how much it was doing until it was gone and I locked the brakes and flat spotted the tyres. That's the risk now. Amazing how quickly and easily you can knacker a pair of soft track tyres without the ABS assistance. Just something to be mindful of.

    Nah, the HKS Silent Hi Power is very tame, though Blyton seems pretty relaxed about noise limits too.

    Though I never had any real issues with the ABS system, having driven on track in a non-ABS MX5 a couple of times, I wanted to try the SX sans ABS so I pulled the fuses half-way through the day. I found it pretty easy to modulate on the limit and certainly didn't feel disadvantaged. Weighing up the pros and cons...

    Reasons to remove:

    It's not optimal in slippery conditions
    It's a handy weight reduction from the front of the car
    Improved brake feel
    Reduced engine bay clutter
    People say it does unpredictable (and bad) things if you spin off and end up trying to stop the car when it's heading backwards

    Reasons to keep:

    I guess it's not a bad thing to have when on the road

    So, all in all, I'm tending towards removal. Pro-Line Motorspot do what looks like a good delete kit, which even includes a brake bias adjuster because, well, race car.

    GKTech also do a comprehensive and inexpensive delete kit.

    Had a couple of snags with braking imbalance but it turned out to be shoddy bleeding, turns out there's a lot to bleed when you change the entire system. Set of speed bleeder nipples certainly helped. All good now.

    Also had a 4-wheel alignment with some slightly more agressive settings

    Next job is to get the rear calipers working harder to reduce a strong front bias. I intend to shim the BMC internal proportioning valve to supply full pressure and then control it using the Tilton valve in the cabin.

    Another 8kg of junk removed as a bonus too. Should be under 1200kg now, will check on the DIY scales when I get a chance.
