    1jz powered 6666 s13

Just Signed up as a member so thought i would share my build..!

Copied bits from another forum so its moved on a bit but will post up to date

    Competed in 2011 BDC with a RB25 powered s13

Decided to go 1jz as i want big power so reliability is key..

Currently i have sourced most the major parts for the conversion, Just waiting on clutch and turbo and few bits from driftmotion then its just deciding on management/injectors and fitting the damn thing with some fabrication along the way

Also giving the engine a little refresh with new waterpump, oil pump, cam belt, tensioners etc.

Heres how it ended up in 2011 with some pics from various rounds

Knockhill was well worth the 7/8 hour drive, the most savage track

Started to Strip it down, took the RB out, dash etc

    byebye

Wiring is one big mess atm, Its still got the orginal Auto box wiring and a load of other wires that do nothing, and want to relocate most the bay wiring in to the car.

I have had some AN Fittings welded on to the cam covers for the catch can set up and the original breathers blocked up.

Then had a AN fitting welded to the front sump for the turbo oil return

Will get more shots up of the engine with the Japspeed plenum and manifold later.

And more updates as and when

Will leave you with colour ideas... what you think??!?

Finished stripping the interior out.. went to remove the loom and the clifford wont let me unless i chop it out.. any pointers before i chop chop and prob imobilize the car? ! How simple isit to just remove the clifford completly?

    Flipplin Clifford..

Anyway some cool bits turned up..

Comp-R RS35 Hx35 turbo and a Water cooled 44mm Tial wastegate from Owens developments.

And finally got my Japspeed plenum/fuel rail, and manifold back. Plenum needs some work but should be sweet.

Should have my Fuel cell by next week and some other little bits, then its off for some Tubs, Fuel cell box, exhaust and hopefully some more bits

    Fast forward some time and...

After missing all this year due to various reasons, I decided to go a bit mad and have the car how i always wanted, so new weld in cage/tubs/fuel cell etc, so sent the car to NicksonMotorsport for some savage work

    First up the cage..

Then needed a box for my fuel cell to meet regs....

Then the bay, Tubs, stitch welding and Gusset strut brace tied in with the cage. Looks awesome

Last year my Dash/interior looked tatty as was just butchered to fit the cage, so Nickson fitted the dash neatly and made centre dash blanking plate and door cards(not in picture).

And lastly custom made seat rails so my seat sits lower and my head wont hit the cage like before!

Done a little more past few days.

Got the car up on stands and started taking subframes/arms of.

Quick shot of the widee 12s before they come of for a while...

    Subframe out

Stripped down subframe - Have 14 one going in with offset bushes.

    Then started on the front

Now all the arms are off the car they will all need to be rebuilt or replacing as almost every balljoint/Bearing is shot..

Anyone know where i can get replacement balljoints/upgrades??

And a quick shot of hows it left on my way out

    Right few updates..!

Needed to modify the sump so it doesn't foul on the rack, so had the ribs milled of by Cranford engineering.

I also had Cranford Engineering make me a q45 Flange that i could weld on to my plenum which they also skimmed for me

And now flange welded on and q45 fitted up

I did have a powermax 90mm throttle body fitted but it leaks like a sive sooo beware!!!

Next up cut up some pipework and had it welded to the compressor inlet

Since then i have had Sam from 5twenty4 come down and do some fabrication and stitch welding.

He then set work on making a custom 1jz s13 gearbox mount, he took great time making sure the engine was perfectly straight and sitting level which took some work!

Sam can also provide his own 1jz engine and gearbox mounts pm me for info or pm REX7. You wont be disappointed with his work!

Only pic i have from crawling under the car of the finished product at the moment, will have better when engine/box back out before paint.

ow set to work on the exhaust side of things, my down pipe had the wrong v band flange, so after sourcing a 2.5 v band flange i went to Mark at sts in redhill (new rsr) to have the new flange welded on.

And here test fitted, perfect fit

After which he sorted my wastegate pipe, i want it through the bonnet so he cut of the old pipe and made a new bend and welded on the vband for my tial wastegate

    Wastegate test fitted

And then the closeee fitment in the bay

And last up for now, I have had Ian from Quantum AVS come in to rewire the whole car front to back, really happy how its turning out so far....

    Nice braided sleeve, minimal wires...

And first signs of life.... Haltech Racepak dash

Quick update, Stripped car back and turned over :S

Cleaned up underside, welded etc etc etc Heres how we left it today... under-seal Paint tomorrow

Mid way through the underseal coats...

    Front arch..

We then rolled the car back over... did a few final bits before paint and then literally walked (not me lol) the car to the paint booth.

Quick shot mid way way through prep trying out my Carbon Dmax Bonnet, Thanks to Wayne at Autoextreme for this.

Few days later i went down and the car was in middle of being primed

    Kit being prepped as well...

Colour should be on by tuesday... excited is an understatement lol
