Fail
Are you american per chance?
No british lol
If Skyshack see's that he's going to do a whole page post on the statistic's of that one car alone, including the names of the workers at the factory, their wife's names how many kids they had and their names, then possibly a top ten of rapid frog wagons that not any of us remember,But skyshack will
Not that fast now but by the standard of the time it was. As was the R5, for example. Outright straight line performance sort of misses the point anyway - I've had more fun in a 205 than any of my Nissans.
I guess I've just never seen the point of dismissing a whole array of cars based on nationality and perception of said nationality.
After owning a couple of Frenchies I can say that none have really lived up to the "unreliablele" tag.they carry. In fact, my 180SX was less reliable
In saying that, I've never driven a French car which excited me, or that I even particularly enjoyed for that matter.
As for not making anything fast, what about Venturi and Bugatti?

The Atlantique is pretty I'll grant you but I always thought Bugatti was Italian
The 2008 just looks like one of those Ford people carriers to me.
In my opinion, the 205 above looks ugly where the R5 Turbos looked nice in blue and the 406 Coupe was the last pretty French car made. I agree it has the same look (not looks) as an S15 and I don't think that is a bad thing. S15s are nicely proportioned.
Only french cars I've owned was a Renault 30 (my first car back in the 80s) and a Clio 1.8 16V that was a rattly heap after 3 years and 30K miles of ownership.
I wouldn't have another.
Its just another opinion though.

Bugatti is just a name and has been since the old man died, word is you could have bought it for 20K in the late 90's - most of the Veyron development was done by Dallara for VW ........ so still Italian, just about
French hot hatches are the best, full stop and you cant ignore cars like the CX, Pug 505 Familiale (that they only stopped making in 1999!), Espace, 2CV and R4. Its only since they have started to start making cars like everyone else that the build quality isnt outweighed by the eccentricities for me.

From Wiki :-
Ettore Bugatti was a French car manufacturer of high-performance automobiles, founded in 1909 in Molsheim, Alsace by Italian-born Ettore Bugatti.
Every day is a school day
Bugatti veyron was just put together in france as im aware but owned by vw
If the car was designed by Italians in Italy then Id lean toward Italian ........... assembly may happen in France but the components arent made there, I could tell you where but Id have to kill you
EB110 chassis was made by Aerospatiale in France IIRC but the rest was made by an Italian company, but then Bugatti was still actually Italian back then anyway

The workmanship on the original Bugattis makes everything else ever made look crude and tacky.
