    Turbo

Right im in the process of changing turbo gaskets and ive got the turbo off and thought this is a good time to check on the turbos life and ive come across this.

Now im fully aware i should not use this as its just a bomb waiting to explode but it was running fine whilst on the car, not smoking ect has anyone else stumbled across this, i cant seem to find a replacement turbo + im not paying 500 odd for a new one.

Time too upgrade get bigger and better, could try sending it for rebuild/repair but that wont be cheap, would be better off getting new/second hand turbo

or try your luck and see how long before the shaft bearing gets knackerd as it will be out of balance

well i was just about to go stage 1a after this gasket change so if i could find a t28r that would be ideal but i cant seem to find a t28 let alone a t28r.
im thinking of running this until a t28r crops up then obv fit it. whats the chance of this killing my engine? would the turbo just shake itself to bits before killing the engine?

Chances of killing the engine are slim but it's still a risk. Likelihood is it'll just spew its guts

My opinion wait for a turbo to come up, wouldnt want to replace new gaskets again, once they have sealed once you dont really want it apart again more likely the turbo will shit itself ( rarely breaks engine but can happen) get t28r if possible

The turbo on my mates Landy is worse than this and has been running fine everyday for at least 3 years (3 from when we found it) and thats a t25 turbo.

quite a risk to take tbh, considering I want 280 ish bhp and do drift days init, its best I replace it, even tho my wallets not saying the same. Changing turbo gaskets has cost me a fortune but hey thats 200's for you.
