need help with my s13 again...

just noticed that when trying to go on boost it whistles. and nothing happens. and after i release the gas pedal i can hear popping noise i think it cames from exhaust pipe. the boost gauge show 1 bar of boost but it feels like something is holding the car... maybe need a new fuel pump? anyone got any ideas of what can be wrong?

Have you got a BOV fitted ?

If so, it is probably leaking.

It will also cause overfueling when it blows off and that will make the excess petrol burn in the exhaust causing a popping noise on the overrun.

Could be the mother of all boost leaks? pressure test the pipework from compressor housing exit to throttle body and trigger bottle spray soapy water over the joints and pipe work and can test bov/dump valve at same time if got 1,
more spec on the car could help,as in stock ecu and fuel pump? (need a walbro 255 even if stock spec car imo) still on wing mount cooler? etc, wmic rot and crack and leak like crazy, the whistle could well be the boost leaking from somewhere?

No bov at all. But it sounds likebit has got one when changing the gear or lifting foot of the throttle. Well as far as i know the fuel pump is stock. It has got big ass intercooler in the feont if the car and aftermarket induction. And i think thars it when it comes to moods.

pretty much stg 1 mods with no fuelpump i think you need to check for boost leaks and then get a walbro fuelpump without a doubt. Running lean at 1bar boost isnt good!

sounds like boost leak! You can adjust the actuator for less boost, should only be running .6-.7 with out the upgrade fuelpump and some colder plugs NGK BCPR7ES are what you want.

Twang the 'c' clip of wastegate arm (don't loose the clip) and hold shaft with mole grips at the end of the thread if needed, lock nut undone should move easy if not on the wastegate lever, bit fiddly but do-able

Found that boost leak today...got it fixed temporary as im off to amsterdam in the morning so the only thing to do as i come back is to get few hose clips from halfords and put them on as 2 of the ones i got are broken. Walbro fuel pump and new spark plugs will be instaled so hope that it all will be running good.
