bought some more parts, can't wait to go drifting again
A31 Cefiro front anti roll bar, ultra racing 27mm
Super pro Front anti roll bar drop links and bushes
ultra racing front 27mm D poly bushes
super pro polybush rear anti roll bar D bushes
super pro rear drop links and poly bushes
also bought a stock rear anti roll bar (18mm) and then had it blasted and powdercoated along with all D bush brackets
conceptua tuning gave me an awesome deal on the roll bar parts and some other engine bits i've ordered for something else
unforutnately i got ripped off £80 just for powdercoating the roll bar, i'm not going back there again!
everything is absoltuely covered in grease and the superpro supplied grease, i'm very much against leaving things dry and prone too failure
plus it means next time you come to work on it, you just wipe the grease off and the threads/bushes are like brand new underneath, for example, my alignment last month!
the a31 rb cefiro anti roll bar clears the 1jz front sump fully, i did have too trim down two brace brackets on the nismo style front bar however it still has the solid bar fitted so no difference there really
also had to reduce my steering lock, thankfully i'd thought about this when making the front end, the lock stops were easy, just undone the two 22mm nuts and unscrewed the lock stops forward so the wheels don't hit the new roll bar
it has been a great weekend, i took the car out for a run afterwards and it's quite different now, it certainly stays more level now
also this week a spare kouki rear bumper turned up which i have planned to get repainted as mine has a few marks
--------------------
so i'm starting a new project, a new engine, some fun basically to get going in my spare time.
the plan is to have an engine with some better down low power, spools the turbo quciker and is 100% reliable and fresh
new piston rings, new head gasket, new cams, new gaskets everywhere etc
bought a new block, more info on this later
started stripping my spare 1jz head
took it down to a local head shop
along with some new stem seals, (24 in total)
all valve guides are nice and tight, he said the only bad bit was one valve was showing sign of burning the seat, you can see it in this pic
so 24 valves cleaned, polished, shimmed and reground later, and 24 new stem seals
the head had 7thou remvoed and resurfaced
P.S THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CURRENT ENGINE! this is just a bit of a fun side project

bought some ep racing bonnet spacers, seen them on a few comp cars and decided that funciton>form, not a huge fan of how they look but if they work then they are staying
next option is a vented dmax bonnet
repaired my wind deflector which snapped in half at finalboss on track, used tiger seal and found a perfect method of holding it still haha
not sure why or how but the broken off half was found by one of the staff there, many thanks to that dude! can't remember your name sorry
also got round to putting the original Q's badges back on, hopefully they will stay on and won't get slapped off by a tyre haha
new 235/40/17 federal 595 rsr tyres bought from mytyres.com for the front
on and balanced
bought a 350z steering pump
and some cnc made brackets from steven donnelly at diemax, great guy and very helpful! highly recommend him!
these retain the stock location of the power steering pump but using the 350z pump, so i didn't even have to change my aux belt
installed, i just had to change the position of my fuel pipe since the feed pipe is slightly different now and the fuel rail AN fitting i used was originally made around the old pump
rolled her outside and started the car
filled with fresh new steering fluid as i'd drained the system
unfortunately my japspeed radiator had cracked along the bottom tank, it was spraying water onto the aux belt and causing it to squeak
that was the end to my weekend, i had arranged to go drifting on sunday too so the saturday was a massive disapointment for me after doing all that work on the car with the roll bars, new tyres etc then this....
koyo rad ordered through auto extreme, which also means i now have to make a new front pannel as it was made around the s13 japspeed rad which isn't as wide as the koyo one
got my 1jz rocker covers back with 2xan10 breathers welded on, one hole blocked off by the turbo
also a 22mm pipe welded into the alloy sump for the drain

got myself a 4.1 ratio diff and had it welded
then painted the casing silver, also put in new oil and sealed on the backplate
also put in some driftworks solid front diff bushes
the next thing i'd wanted to do was black out my headlights like i had done on my first s14a 5 years ago
used a bosch heat gun and made them toasty hot to break the sealant, then pulled them apart which was quite tricky
took out the screws and removed the chrome insets and painted them
did the same to the sidelights, these are a bit harder as they are all plastic as opposed to the headlights, so more chance of bending them out of shape
all i need to do is reheat them back up for refitting and i'll also be adding a bead of tiger seal around them before i push them back together
i've also ordered a pair of +25mm vented front wings from kinzuru kits
--------------------------
bought red lense tint spray and done the amber corners on the back lights
just need to add a light layer of black over them
bought new gauges from demon tweeks, 2 SPA designs 52mm half and half gauges
one is water temp / battery voltage
other is oil pressure / temprature
all come with new sensors / loom
bought an inline rad hose fitting and put the new water temp sensor in there
changed the water neck on the engine and used the old oem 90 degree bend i had for my other head, (looking for one of these if anyone has one for sale)
also renewed the O rings in the water pump return top pipe and put a new gasket in behind it against the head....£3.19 plus vat per washer :S
then a new supra 2jz top rad hose which had to be cut down to fit
since the tiger seal was out for the headlights i thought now would be a good tinme to do the bung on my rear window
then the black front lights
unforutnately the car sat like this during the wait for my new front wings....
after alot of chasing and so on, turns out they were behind on production, i couldn't wait as i had to get wings on the car for a test fit / drop them off to paint / refit them back onto the car in time for a photographer
one quick call to EP racing, within 24 hours they were here
dropped them off at stevie's on friday night, went to collect them at 8am sunday looking like this.....
can't thank stevie b enough! match is perfect and paint is perfect as usual....so good of him to squeeze them in with such a short notice of time!
rushed home to get them on the car as i only had two hours spare on sunday to get things 100% for monday's photo session
------------------------------------
monday 30th nov 2015 banzai shoot day!
I arrived nice and early to get everything setup and the car cleaned again
photographs were taken by Steve McCann, nice fella and will be doing my wedding next year too which is cool
I won't be posting any of his pics as they will belong to banzai for copyright reasons until the mag has been out / off the shelf
no date when it will be in as it's just up to the editors whenever they fancy using it so i'll just be keeping an eye out for it
all i can say is i'm over the moon
number plate ain't real....
shots continued into the evening/sunset
anyway, for now, the car is stored in the garage all nice and warm for winter coming
2016 will be good! hopefully save up and get a good chunk of this 2jz done early on and also try my hand at scottish drift championship for some fun see if i can get past the licensing day

oem crank pulley
got steve's head as we've done an swap plus money my way to cover me for the work done on previous head
oem toyota head set turned up, head gasket, valve stem seals, intake manifold gasket, every o ring in the engine, front and back crank seals, exhaust manifold gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, rocker cover stud gaskets and so on
2jz timing belt kit turned up, my new toyota part collection is getting bigger! almost finished with ordering parts though which is good
lay the 264 cams in the head and gently bolted them in
i made a box for posting the head and it's now sent down to a specialist down south for a massive job list to be done, mainly porting the chambers and polishing etc, blueprinting/port matching
i think there will be good gains to be had, especially seeing how much material there is to remove
my wood work skills aren't up too much! however the box is strong enough to protect the cylinder head
also 2/6 oil squirters showed up for the GE block
-----------------------------------------
not much to update really, been collecting parts and getting organised
two cam sensors, one new crank sensor, one water temp ecu sensor and a thermostat
6x oil squirter bolts arrived from japan
ordered some brian crower titanium retainers and valve springs from conceptua, I wish i'd planned this earlier as i could have gone up a cam size
swapped some parts for another front sump, this is an original jzx90 with factory oil return flange, started cleaning it up
oil squirters finally showed up, again some missing but heh never mind, i ordred two sets as i've got a set for a friend
also a new water neck from a vvti this time, this only has one water outlet for a turbo so if the new turbo i buy needs water cooled, i'll take it from there
as for now, my head is still down at the head shop and will be there for a while
monday i plan on taking my block to get machined for squirters
have a provisional buyer for my current setup which i'm relying on bringing in money so i'll find out what's happening there once he updates me

can't remember if i posted this earlier or not but the block is now at mac motorsport in dundee, marcin has the blocks machined out to match a 2jz gte and will have a full set of oil squirters, full oil gallery work done and the oil feed machined so they are identical to a gte block in every way
he's supplying all the parts for the build from real street performance in america for the bottom end, bar the oil squirters, pumps and seals which i already have
current 1jz setup is now sold, not removed from the car yet but the buyer is happy to wait as he stll has a little bit left to pay up
stripped the pistons off the GE rods, these are the strongest version of the rods toyota made for the 2jz and they are staying as marcin said they can handle up to 800hp ish which is fine for my application
thanks robyn at conceptua for the rapid delivery on the arp head studs
while on the phone, i'd also ordered a set of brian crower tianium valve retainers and stiff sprigns
got my spare gold e wings sprayed silver for the time being, couldn't find anyone who can mirror polish them so it'll do for now
went through with the decision to run a bmw diesel gearbox, this is the 5 speed 330d gearbox kit from clarke motorsport in aberdeen, designed by marcin i believe
twin plate clutch and comes with all the adapters needed to run on the back of the 1/2jz block
rated to 850bhp from memory more than enough
will drive ace too since it's a twin plate
was not cheap however this setup will be awesome when done
then came the bmw 330d gearbox, got it from a breakers yard but unfortunately turned up with a dead propshaft doughnut, a un-usable front prop section and a broken gear selector.....typical
gear selctor is away being repaired now by tig welder paul
the dead prop bushing is fit for the bin....bought a new bilstien one for £100
bought another bmw propshaft for the 330d box, new prop doughnut on that now and it's ready to go onto the gearbox and be chopped to size to meet the rear half of the s14
been ordering some more parts from japan, this time i've ordered sard 800cc injectors and have them as 'drop in' fitmenet for the factory fuel rail
however, been told by the supplier that sard have them on back order until end of april, so i'll have to wait
i did buy a top feed rail but in the end decided side feed drop in ijectors will do for now unless the car is having issues during mapping/making power
marcin sent me this picture of the bottom end parts that have arrived for my/other 2jz bottom ends he's building just now (one being for my mate cam's jzx100)
getting excited now!
got this for the front of the engine once it's complete
also looking at doing a dual feed on the stock rail to keep fueling equal and not risk starving the injectors at the return end of the rail
so the theory is, drill into the center of the rail and have a return made
going to use this extended an6 fitting so it'll be easily accessable even when the intake manifold top half is on
just taken delivery of teflon braided an6 hose, 3m length and also a few an6 fittings/m14x1.5 conversion fittings as i'm going to redo the full power steering system pipework when the new engine goes in

so many awesome parts. keep it up

loads of other parts have started turning up, like the 90* 2.5" alloy bend for the turbo
stripped the brand new oil pump
they are bad for having poor flow castings and rough bends, this helps flow, i've opened it up a fair bit too just like the performance pumps you can buy in america
this is only a 'during' pic to show some difference, this was tidied up and finished after
likewise, you can see all the rough sharp edges and even lumps in the casting on the oil path ways
every single screw/bolt was tipex'd and marked in its original postion, even numbered them all so they went back on exactly where they were
also marked the gears to make sure they were bang on where they should have been before i stripped
loaded it up with engine assembly lube and lubed up the gears teeth too
the green stuff:
began gasket matching the inlet manifold
also done a new aux belt tensioner bearing for the new engine
changed over to an s15 spec s clutch master cylinder i had spare at my house as the old one was leaking, however i'll be taking it back off soon to paint the bay when the engines out so all the brake fluid burnt paint will be cleaned up and sorted
bought a pair of straight rack spacers from opjp, these are the kaizen drift brand if i remember correctly, this will elimnate the need for offset rack spacers when i fit my modified cross member
after being ripped off 150 quid import duty, my sard 800cc injectors showed up
air intake temp sensor for new ecu
had the rear of the crank gear teeth welded up to prevent them breaking off,
this is a common fault of the jz's and i want to eliminate any risk of problems with the new engine
parts shop max arb shorter mod brackets turned up,
will see if i can make some sort of drop link out of what i have to use these
this will regain me that wheel clearance on full lock like i had when i ran no arb, it shortens the arb's length and relocates the D bush brackets
have my modified cross member off to the powdercoaters, the rack mount has been moved forward 20mm and all the welds on the frame have been 'beefed' up by spice weasel on sxoc
