I presume the pad material fell off the backing plate.
Edit: too slow
Ill try not to have another 'I am a driving god' moment where my ikle bag of talent gets lost down the side of the seat and I end up embedded deep into the hedge outside my local pub with everyone pointing a laughing.
lol, yeah sorry, i ment the remaining pad material fell off, herd it go clunk into the wheel then it fell out and then felt it go under one of the back wheels! so glad the backingplate was still in so pistons were safe, i no they are pretty far out sx set-up!
i no i needed new pads but dan at db hasnt been in, so after a lot of searching ive found out what code the pads are and the discs while i was at it, so got demon tweeks on the case and have a set coming direct from ebc tomorrow!
You do really need to be a bit (lot) of a twat to crash due to conditions...
It's pretty obvious if its cold, damp, icy etc.....
Basically if you crash it you deserve it....
Mines my daily, family and missus live the other side of the country so will be making many a trip this winter whatever the weather. Not at all phased by having to do so, did it last year in the SX no issues. Will just be carrying spade and other bits and pieces should I get stuck as usual.
Remember from last year, snow was pretty bad some chap in my street tried for about an hour to get his car out of our road, and gave up. I warmed mine up and drove straight to McDonalds no problem, its just the way you drive.
fear it and you'll respect it... the moment you let your guard down and get trigger happy with the throttle in shit conditions it will bite you hard
I do hope that never comes back and bites you in the arse
Althoughi agree alot of the time it is down to people not driving to conditions you do get the odd occasion where people get caught out I need to get the Landy back on the road as i am definatly going hunting for stuck people when it snows this year
I managed driving through deep snow fine 2 christmases ago, then coming into my road the gritter hadn't passed and was ice under compressed snow, at <3mph the front decided it didnt want to steer and went straight into the wall at the driveway. Used the handbrake but was pointless.
Given how incredibly easy it is to lose the backend with anything less than good tryes in the wet/snow I can only assume you have't driven in poor conditions?
My old man's had RWD 90% of his driving career and drives 100 miles every day for work during winter/summer, yet he's still managed to wipe out 3 times in ungritted snow.

Pompous much?
Almost hope Karma bites.
I crashed my first RWD car due to conditions. It wasn't due to driving like a twat, it was due to inexperience - different, in my eyes.
It comes down to not driving to the conditions, and there are many things that can cause that - inexperience and twatty driving are just 2.
I hope I dont make the list but need to get a car first.
well i should make it onto the crash list
But it hasnt missed a meet or a drift day !
Its now off the road for the foreseeable future (Feb/march)
So if someones friend dies as a result of a crash do they go to the top of this kill list?
Very strange thread to make tbh?
It's more for bumps and prangs on cars than fatalities mate.
Light hearted really.
Survived last Winter in my daily, but now its stage 2a, a cautious approach to twisty bits and decent all season tyres should hopefully see me through another season.
Edit: Its my first RWD. I also must admit to looking for something AWD to swap with at the moment...

Recently got my driftcar back with even more power and even less subframe bushes, and Im at Santa Pod on Wednesday .......... some pretty good odds available right here.
Maybe I can finish off Mitch's car at the same time?
