    1957 Ford 100e.

Well after a break from the jap scene i wanted to go for something different, So after a hunt around for something unusual and with the help from my father in law i set my heart on a wee Ford 100e. So after a few weeks of hunting around we found a 1957 car with 2 owners and 17,000 miles on the clock. It looked a tad rough but thats just the paintwork. The car itself is solid with no rust or welding and with all the bulkhead work done and a 2.0 ltr pinto engine already fitted all the hard work was done.

So after a lot of saving and i got started on the engine, First of i got the head skimed ported and polished and fitted a fast road cam. then i got the breating side done with nice set of twin 40 carbs on a short manifold. Then we customised a mk2 escort ashley exhaust system to fit.The ignition was finished with an aldon igniter and electronic distributor system.

    Roll cage made.

During this i was reading a book about chasis and suspension building and got some ideas for an anti tramp setup so got going cracking on making a caltrac setup. whilst doing this i decided to paint the car underneath and all the sespension bits at the same time.

    all back on the car.

After getting the back end sorted i set to front end converting the 2.8 capri billys to coilovers.

Finaly got her on all four wheels

Then she had her first outing at the National Hot Rod Drags.

    Hope you like.

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Cheers Mel. Just trying to figure out a way to run the exhaust through the bulkhead to run the car that low.
