    Ebay Coils? Review? Anyone Tried?

hi, right after trying john (joey200sx)'s coils in my car it completely changed it, ran smoother and pulled better, he has the Apex performance coils at near £300

    i've found these on ebay

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-...item4abd99cf82

now they look exactly the same as john''s coils (both have red bits) and he said it himself the look identical

anyway before i buy them, has anyone bought a set? i'd like to know what to expect? usual ebay tat or will they be worth it? i'm fed up of buying people's second hand crap now i've decided buy cheap buy twice....(ironic i'm buying cheap ebay tat )

    cheers
    jonny.

right got a set at £170 however i've messaged the seller asking if they will go cheaper for me if i do a review on them on here wonder if he will accept that as a reason to give me good discount haha, he's only moved £5 on a few offers i've made for them so far but hopefully will get him down a bit more.

lol, China make fakes of pretty much everything. They are VERY good at making things look identical, such as their version of the BMW X5, or an iPad, or designer hand bags lol.

good luck but I suspect they will be poop.

i suspect that the apex coils came from a manufacturer in china in the first place rather than them being made over here and then copied in china

I only mentioned China in case the buyer had missed that and not factored in that there may by Import Charges, Duty & VAT to add, that shipping could take a while and that there will be no warranty.

Nothing to do with the quality of the item as this is unknown as yet.

Yeah I'm fully aware they are Chinese. The guy said I have a 6 month warranty. They look identical to the apex ones but as mentioned could be a copy but then again the apex ones could be Chinese for all we know since they won't give a brand name. Who knows. Lead time for them arriving is expected to be 7 days but i am unsure how customs will go with charges etc. should be fine. Can't wait to try them though. Won't be doing a dyno before as I don't have money to waste haha unless someone wants to buy me a dyno slot for the benefit of this test will also hopefully try them in John joey200sx's car to get his opinion Aswell on the difference.

I assume you will be rigging them up on some form of test bed and doing a proper analytical test of the two comparrison sets as well as a control set of a set of good condition Nissan standard ones to measure voltage, ampage, number of sparks etc etc?

Or are you going to use an arse dyno?

well if i can get on the dyno before i fit these i will hopefully be able to do a before and after comparisson, tell me if i'm talking complete rubbish here but if i booked a 2 run dyno session i could do one run with original coils and then one run with the ebay coils or does the ecu need time to 'learn and adjust' or am i talking utter crap?

    put these in today

rev hard car splutters and misses....

    idle car is lumpy

messaged maxspeedracing on ebay told him about it

    waiting to hear back

didn't expect them to be good tbh....not surprised ebay crap

could just be a bad set but could be a million other things

however that one time with john's car's apex red coils my car was perfect, so maybe these are not the same as apex ones?

i'd like to think i'll be safe enough here, the guy said they have a 6month warranty and i did buy through paypal so i have paypal protection to make a claim if things get bad.

don't get me wrong they did make a difference but they aren't 100% compared to the other coils i tried from john's car.

i done a boost leak test aswell today and my intercooler setup holds perfect boost at 20psi just to be sure it wasn't anything else.
