Xmas meal (Fully booked!) + Night of partying! 15/12 - Reading

With a twist! It's going to be in Reading this year

Effectively we're having a joint Xmas bash with the Hampshire and Dorset lot and I'm keen to try something a little different this year.

Soooooo...

The bulk of people stayed in a cheapy hotel in Guildford last year which, to my mind at least, makes the location a little irrelevant. Add to that the fact that we all usually have the same people each year let's have a change of scenery.

It's still in the preliminary stages but here is a rough outline of what we (Guy and I) are planning.

The Reading Central Travelodge is doing double and family rooms for £24 a night at the moment , I've just booked mine, mega cheap!!!

French Onion Soup (V)
with cheese croute

Chicken liver, pork, woodland mushroom & wildflower honey parfait
with toasted supremo bocata and spicy plum chutney

Roasted portobello mushroom
topped with baby spinach and goats cheese

Prawn cocktail
with multi-seaded bread & butter


Mains
Roast turkey wrapped with bacon
with sage & onion stuffing

Salmon wellington
with cider and tarragon cream

Rib-eye steak
with confit tomatoes & watercress
(£5 supplement)

Shallot, parsnip and sweet potato tarte tatin (v)
with vegetable gravy

All main dishes are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes

Sticky fruit pudding
with brandy sauce

Coconut and chocolate tart
with creme fraiche

Lime and lemon tart
with creme fraiche & raspberry coulis

The After Party

Our plan is to meet up after the meal and give folks a couple of hours to freshen up at the hotel, change or play with themselves. I am confindent that the majority will be power drinking the whole way through though so here's where we're going...

We have a table reserved for us on the condition that we spend £500 between us (shouldn't be hard!)

We'll all be on the guest and have free entry providing we go in as a group so we'll be meeting up the at 9pm sharp to head inside, if you miss it there is a discounted entry fee.

To top it all we've even got waitress service for the night!

We're going to try and do it a little differently this year and hold a Christmas lunch followed by an evening party.

We'll be sitting down for food at about 2pm til 6ish. Then it'll be back to the hotel to freshen up before hitting an exclusive venue for the full VIP treatment.

I'm in contact with the Premier in there trying to negotiate a discounted room rate but I'd like a rough idea of numbers so if you're free on the 15th Dec and fancy getting involved in the club Xmas do then drop a post in here and I'll add all the info as we sort the fine detail out
