    OK latest spec:

    Samsung 120GB 840 series SSD
    Corsair obsidian 750D case
    Asus AMD Radeo R9 290 4GB
    OCZ 700W ModXstream PSU
    16GB Corsair 2400MHz vengence pro
    Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
    AMD FX9370 4.7GHz

In the future i will add a closed loop water cooled system including GPU and also maybe another R9

Firstly will this all work together and secondly and changes.

The total for that lot from Dabs is just under £1100

    Cheers

I'm guessing you're going to be using your tv as a monitor or have one on standby? also when I was building my PC I had to add in the cost of windows (if you haven't got a copy already) and also peripherals took a part of my budget too.

Yeah windows is what 70-80 quid unles your in IT which means you tend to "acquire it" for nowt.

Also the FX9370 is a decent cpu but you can get the same performance with an 8320 or 8350 for a little less + overclock.

Forgot about an OS but may be able to aquire one.
Update the processor for an 8320 (the 8350 is only £20 cheaper so didnt seem worth it).

OCZ power supply? Avoid like the proverbial plague . I have had nothing but trouble with them (not just personal use, but with those I've sold - I've had a 50% failure rate, albeit on quite a small sample size but over a fair period of time) and given that OCZ are no more, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

Corsair RAM? How many examples shall I give you of duff Corsair Vengeance RAM . Buy Kingston or Crucial, 2 brands I have had near faultless reliability with on RAM (the last duff Kingston chip I encountered was so long ago I can't actually remember). I've been sporadically using Crucial over the last 2 years (for when my suppliers were out of stock of Kingston modules) and not had a duff one yet .

Just my tuppence based on first-hand experience of those brands over a number of years .

I got corsair Vengeance RAM and they seem fine. Not overclocked them or anything...running at 1833MHz or something...

I do run a Corsair power supply though.

I also found that 120GB ssd is too small...I need a bigger one already.

Yeah, if you're only having the one hard drive a 120Gb SSD is too small. Even if only using it for gaming, you will want to play a few games and the average game is around 7-10gig minimum these days. Hell, Max Payne 3 was almost 30gig on its own! But that was an exception as far as I can see so far.

I went with a 250gb SSD and still got a 1tb HDD as well for anything where read/write speed isn't important.

A 2TB hybrid drive can be had for £100

I still have my early-adopter 32GB SSD... but then it only has Windows on it.
