    which turbo for 300ish bhp

hey guys, my car is 98k miles atm and just trying to plan for the future when my turbo pops. (could be tomorrow, could be 2 years time)

my car is currently stage 1a h-dev map (so roughly 280bhp)

im still running standard injectors and MAF but will buy the upgrades when needed.

if i stick a gt28r on, will i need another map or will it be a direct replacement with no hassle

if i go gt2871r will it be ok running at only 300bhp and around 15psi?

is it worth buying a new actuator to go with the new turbo?.

i think my overall bhp goal is 320.

just trying to get my head around potential costs.

    cheers Phil

you can use a gt28r for 300hp, the standard t28 phases out around 290 ish mark i think. dependant on your tubby condition

If you only want 300ps then you might as well just get a T28r from an S15 as they are about £500 brand new.

Or a GT2871r which would see you around the 340ps mark with injectors, Z32 AFM and a remap

for a short while I ran my 2871 at 1bar with an SAFC although it was mapped for previous T28r too ran fine, not the quickest of cars mind, then with HDev 3a ECU/Z32 AFM and 555cc still at 1bar made 269wbhp

the compressor on the 2871 is the biggest difference, although in terms of performance at full tilt there is a pretty big difference, the compressor housing are very much the same size, the turbine on the other hand looks about twice the size

what would be best for the ECU map,

go to a local reputable remapper garage or give h-dev a ring and trade in my stage 1a chip for a custom jobby

sorry for being a noob >.<

Some people dont see that at 1 bar but suppose its down to map and engine condition, but 300at 1 bar is a good figure
