What would you do at a School Reunion ?

This Saturday, I'm going to a school reunion for my old secondary school for the class of '77.

Some of the attendees still live in the same town and see one another occasionally but, for many (including me), this will be the first time we have met in 35 years.

I mentioned this to a workmate who said he would only go to a reunion with an automatic weapon with intent to commit mass vengeance upon them all.

This set me to wondering what you lot would put on your to-do list if you went along to your class re-union.

    Away you go...

I'd laugh at all the chicks that didn't want to fcuk me, as they are all now fat, have had 5 kids and thus now have a vagina that resembles a trod on pork pie, 2 divorces, living off benefits and their once firm lovely breasts are rapidly heading for their knees

This. There's probably a number of valid reasons why you haven't kept in touch.

    Leave before I got there.

I went to one about 3 years after I left. It ended with me and a mate I was still in touch with essentially bundling one of our old classmates out of the back of my car, then scarpering.

If you're not still in contact, there's a reason.

I'd think about going to perv on the girls then decide it wasn't worth the hassle as there's plenty of porn that's not going to watch itself.
Quite happy I'm not in touch with any of them

I'm travelling 500 miles round trip to mine

    On my list so far...

    1. Get a drink in the pub opposite the school that would never serve me
    2. Have a smoke in the school yard even though I've given up smoking.
    3. Get an iced bun from Greggs - then realise I can't eat them any more and I don't need to save the change up for fags as I don't smoke any more.
    4. Get drunk and tell Fiona G. how much I always admired her unfeasibly large rack but never had the courage to mention it.
    5. Get battered by Fiona G's husband after finding out that she married the hardest kid in the school.
    6. Go home thinking...I'm not going to do that again for another 35 years.

Seriously though, I'm hoping it's going to be fun to find out what happened to everyone. So many of us had aspirations for one thing and I bet ended up doing different. Maybe it was a 70s thing but almost all of us had this idea that the world was our oyster.

I was going to be a farmer in Cheshire but ended up in banking in London...Not so far from what I thought then

I'm not even sure if I'll recognise that many people. I look a bit different to the short long-haired greaser that left school back in '77.

I'm not so sure about this.

I'm not very good at keeping in contact with people anyway but, for me, school was school and most of my mates were from close to home rather than school. I lost contact with most of my mates when I left home and I rarely go back. I probably have less in common with my home mates than my school mates now.

The way I remember it, most of the kids in my class were decent enough people.

I also had on my list...

    7. Pick Mr Latronio (a 6ft gym teacher we called Lurch) by the ear and ask him how HE liked it, but he's probably dead by now.

I think for anyone who left school after 2000, the Facebook/email/MSN thing has meant tht if you werent directly connected with someone you knew someone else who was, where as for those who left before and moved away somewhere new, its often only 1 or 2 people you stay in touch with along with your family.

As an example, I left my 6th Form in 1997, and have just been on a stag do with 12 or so good mates - we dont see each other more than once a year really but stay in touch through various means, even the lads that have gone to work overseas. When the wedding comes there will be another 20+ Id imagine, potentially even more.

I reckon Im still in touch with about 5 people I left Primary School in 1989 with though, and thats mostly because none of us have moved far from the village we went to school in

I was going to go to my 10yr one - then realised I still go the pub with the ones that matter, all the others were lying thieving bastards or just generally ****ers.

and there has been a complete role-reversal in the state of the women, most of the ones that were "fit" had kids before I had left college

Same here, my 10 year one was about a year ago now.

The only people who went were those that never moved away and still kept in contact with each other, being a little village school this meant they're all abit weird.

What would I do? not bother. I hated school (not the actual school bit - I was good at that but I was one of the unpopular ones due to my intense dislike of football. In a school where everything revolved around the stupid game) so have no desire to see anyone whom I am no longer in contact with. I still speak to the few friends I had and am really close to a few of them. Shame the "close" isn't distance...

Do a burnout in the car park then leave.
