hi guys,
just bought my first s13 shes totally standard what mods do you recommend to get me started? cheers
Cut springs , welded diff and a v8 engine !
Lol welcome mate
welcome nice choice s13 is my fav
a bleed valve from horsham developments (£40) allows you to up the boost of ur turbo but dont get too carried away tho lol
^^ this is why people slate the CA engine too many people do this ,, blow it up and blame the CA engine lol
Same as the rs mate , get a bleed valve if you uprate fuel pump and get eyeball to do it on the rollers , buying a bleedvalve and going hero spec is never good
Slap a t28 on with front mount , 225 walbro with a air filter n exhaust will see 230 safely
perhaps there is a reason so many ppl do it ( prob cause it works and very affordable)!!!
u obviously own the sr20 heap lol
lol my bad
lol cheers guys in the process of buying parts from driftworks a guy breaking an s13 with front mount 3inch turbo inlet pipe what sort of power with an uprated ecu will a t25 run?

First thing would be to give it a full service. New spark plugs, oil, fuel and air filters, change the belts and check the cam-belt is in good condition and has been changed every 60000 miles, if not change it (might be worth changing it anyway for peace of mind).
I wouldn't go too mad with the mods at first, drive it for a few thousand miles first and get to know the car, I wouldn't want to spend a load of money on an awesome turbo setup and then have the big ends go and then have to pay out for that.
If there is a member local to you buy them a beer and get them to have a look over the car with you. Also check the rust situation; sills, rear arches, boot lid and front crossmembers are common places for them to go.
As for mods: poly-bushes. Its a bastard of a job but it makes a hell of a difference, considering the rubber in the current bushes will probably have perished about 10 years ago now
Another very important thing to do is play 80s rock music when ever you drive it (that one might be more personal preference).
Gauges are also very important, make sure you know what's going on with your car when you start adding mods. As a start a boost gauge should be fine. When it running a bit more power get yourself an oil pressure and oil temp gauge and keep a close eye on them. Water temp will also be useful.
For the power mods I would buy them one by one and have them lined up a a shelf until I had all the parts to go to stage 1, 2, etc and then fit them all at once (or buy them all at once if you have spare cash burning a hole in your wallet).
Heres a guide for each stage mod wise:

Stage 2 - http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info....oducts_id=5030

Enjoy you car and welcome to the club!

This is a sensible Stage 1 mod list.
You don't really need the exhaust mani and the fat downpipe etc. A turbo back mongoose will do the job just fine.
The mods above will cost you around £500-800 at market rates and, on a healthy engine will give you something like 230-240 bhp. Once you declare the mods to your insurance company, it will be more than that.
As this point you will find the brakes and suspension need sorting to handle the extra oomph.
My advice would be to keep your money in your pocket until you have done plenty of research on here and also found out the cost of insurance for a modded car vs. a standard one.
If you have a good condition standard car you have an increasingly rare beast. Wisely choosing a short list of high quality mods will reduce the chance of it ending up as yet another bashed-up drift slag.
Oh, and PICS PLEASE !
Hi matey.
Welcome to the club.
Where about's in London are you...?
I'm in North London and it would be good to see another S13 around.
Defo put pics up ASAP and let us know if you have any more questions or queries...
P.S Keep your eyes peeled for future meets...!
I've had mine for 20 months now, not in any specific order but its had:
new exhaust 3''
new cambelt 1''
new front lower arms
walbro 255 already on
bigger air intake already on
stage 2 chip removed, shouldnt have been on replaced with stage 1 chip, hdev
apex coilovers
bcpr7es
new ca18 almost built, new oe oil and water pump, new timing kit, new acl bearings
Apex rear arm kit not yet fitted to refurbed subframe
Once engines swapped, then i'll fit the boost controller and fmic, happy in the knowledge everything else is right
After that it'll be gt2560r for better spool than t28, z32 afm, 444's, stage 3 hdev chip! Hopefully 300bhp
Oh, and s14 brakes somewhere in the middle of all that
Bashed up drift slag for the win !!!!
Na he said the bodywork is really good rustwise etc that why he got it so look forward to changing the engine n getting it out n running !!
