t28 on ca18det, what boost should i run for stage 2??

Ive just fitted a t28 with t28 actuator to my ca18det, my question is how much boost hould i run? I hear people say stage 2 should be good for 260ish BHP but is that straight away or do i have to up my boost.

    Spec so far is
    Exhaust,
    de-cat,
    air filter,
    walbro fuel pump,
    fmic,
    Re-built t28 turbo
    stage 2 ecu.

    Recomendations please guys??

Stock boost is 7psi or something, you'll probs run 200BHP like that.

I doubt you'll get even that, it's dreadfully slow

With something to up the boost your spec should be good for ~14psi which will see you your 260 ish.

No mention of grade colder spark plugs on your list there so if you haven't got some, spend that tenner wisely.

The stage 2 chip doesn't control the boost, the actuator does. You'll need some form of boost control if you want more than the stock actuator pressure which is low, and slow

The Stage 2 chip is mapped for sufficient fuel to deal with circa 15psi in most cases. As with any generic chip set up, you should be careful that your car isn't an exception, ie it needs to be checked to ensure it's not getting any detonation.

The most commonly used and recommended are NGK BCPR7ES gapped to about 0.9mm. Don't pay the extra for the 7ES-11 as the 11 denotes plug gap of 1.1m which is too wide anyway.

You can get them just about any motor factors for under a tenner

Once you have your plugs in and some form of boost control seems you're quite local I would recommend speaking with Greg at pro tuner (based in Redditch). He will set up timing, your boost controller along with compression test, boost leak test and fuel pressure test.

i'd say more like 150HP, it is worse than oem T25 on stock boost

I know it's a last resort but I've got one of these

I can't afford a propper boost controller for a while. Will this work?? I have a boost guage to measure progress.
