    K11 Micra + Pulsar SR20DET (FWD)

I'm blaming Deacon for this one.

Shouldn't be too hard a conversion, right? Engine is the correct way round, presume Primera GT/Almera GTi gearbox will fit and be up to the job at standard power?

Please feel free to tell me all the things I haven't thought of

both chassis legs need to be cut and i'm sure the bulkhead does as well

ga16 go straight in with a little "adjustment" to the drivers side rail, takes to turbo charging relatively well (popular in the states)

plus micras rust worse than 200's :s

can be done if your competent and is fairly straightforward as far as engine conversions go, by no means an afternoons work though

there was a few taiwanese micras with sr20ve's and a turbo making 350bhp plus :S

    I'm possibly on this too

I'd use a Primera GT lump and turbo that

Why, out of interest? Surely it'd be easier to use the Pulsar engine, attach the FWD gearbox + mounts, sling it in and off you go?

Plus then you have the ITBs.

Just make sure it's on standard suspension, brakes and wheels for added comedy value .

pulsar engines are getting harder to find and costly. Also I have the ability to play with the DE lump and make it strong

    Pulsar lump is easier though

I was thinking buying a whole Pulsar would be the best option, they're dirt cheap these days, and then you know you have everything you need to make it run.

Alot of people turbo the 1.3 lumps with success.

Im half tempted to turbo mine for the lols - or put it on bike carbs.

    Little Bandit was a turbo'd SR20DE. I am 99.9% sure JohnWs (a.k.a. the Mad Micra) was a turbo'd CG13.

One problem I can think of with using the complete Pulsar engine is the intake plenum is mahoosive, and there's not a massive amount of space at the back by the firewall, as evidenced by this pic:

    That's a Primera/Almera job.

a while ago there was a turbo'd cga3de (1.4) that was owned by a guy who also had a 200 (years before i was on the board) so could of been him?

    bright blue one I think?

yeah there are a couple of turbo's ones knocking about but because of the kind of car it is, few choose to do it properly (i.e. a bit bodged)

my old one was dyno'd at 105bhp with just exhaust and air filter (stock is 75bhp, they are quite restricted from stock) which is more than enough to get into trouble with

couple that with big brakes and half decent suspension and its quite an entertaining little car

Another option is to use the 200sx engine and sunny GTI (CA18 version) box, or a bluebird turbo engine. For a much, much easier conversion all round, either start with a later sunny GTI to go SR20det or an old 80's sunny GTI to go CA18det, the only 'easy' swap in a micra is the 1.6 engine. In honesty a 1.3 or 1.6 turbo in a micra would be more than fast enough, same with a sr20de in a micra.

NB. make SURE you get a better and more even brake setup, the heavy brakes up front /nothing at rear makes the micra lethal under heavy breaking, especially if you've put more weight up front.

    My old SR20DE's one :-

you dont need to cut chasis legs or the bulkhead.. Drop the engine and gearbox in use an almera GTi engine or primera lump (Pulsar plenum is massive!) line the driveshafts up first then knock your mounts up from that..

you can turbo it after you get it running and going round corners! if you rebuilt it with some SR16VE pistons and fitted some S3R cams and had a remap you would have a good lump of reliable power tht you could use rather than spinning wheels..

You sure it was him? There's only 2 turbo CGA's I know of. The one I believe 59bhp is referring too is James T, AKA Nis.
