    Bedroom in a van!

Hi guys I'm getting my latest work vehicle Renault traffic and wondered if it's a good idea to get a little bedroom on the go so I can use it for camping (read dogging lol) and when I work away from home
The only real issues I'll have are to do with electricity
I can wire up a twin electric socket to the back of the van ( I'm a mobile tow bar fitter) but not every where will have an electrical plug so would need some way to have battery power charged from the alternator!
So do I wire a couple extra batteries in? Neg to pos or pos to pos can't remember??
    Any help will be appreciated

I'd go for a split charge relay, that way you don't flatten the battery for starting it to escape once you've been using the sockets in your new dogging mobile to run the tv and vcr for old school 70s porn...
You'd need a second battery (biggest 'Leiseure' battery practical is best), this will charge when the van's running.

Pretty cheap to buy, or you can knock one up pretty easilly. Decent size inverters are cheap as chips now too, to get you a stable 230v supply

oh, and it's batteries in parallel, i.e neg-neg and pos-pos... Otherwise you'll end up with a 24v electrical system and bigger issues than how to make a socket work.

Ventilation in general is essential, heating for winter would be nice too.

My mate made a renault master into a camper. it's really well done with a bed, kitchen, toilet, shower, heating etc.

That would be cool but it's still my work van, but I'm thinking a hammock would be cool! Only prob is knowing its there will be tempting to skive off work for a chill lol

I;m interested in this too, but for running a 800W polishing machine, which is normally only run at half its maximum speed, so more likely to draw 400W, and a 1300w pressure washer. Not both at the same time though.
