    Spark? - Yes
    Fuel pump spinning - Yes
    Injectors firing? - Yes
    Live at injectors. - Yes
    Live at ecu? - Yes

Thanks for showing an interest mate.

Basically, it starts up and purrs like a kitten on idle. Free rev it and it behaves as it should. No noises, no missfires, no nothing. It's as soon as it comes under load. Its like fuel starvation, or may be the spark blowing out, maybe the a coil breaking down?? It pops bangs and stalls and struggles to run. Give it 5 mins, and it will start again, sound healthy etc but die out as soon as you try and go anywhere.

So far, cleaned the fuel filters, removed the spark plugs and they are black, removed ecu and its dry, removed immoboliser as that did get wet and was cutting in and out.

Next stage is to put it back together with new plugs and my fingers crossed. If it works as it should, I will drive it straight to a mates who is going to rewire it for me. He is really good with his electrics, I just need to get a wiring diagram for the donor car. 2wd Sapphire, L6 ECU.

Sounds exactly like my supercharged MX5 when the RLTC was playing up

If you need one I have a map sensor knocking about here somewhere that I bought for the MX5 but never used...

Mark Burley @ MB has now had a look at this thread and given me a call. He is pretty confident it's the MAP sensor at fault which would be a result. I should be able to disconnect it and drive it off boost to see if that is the issue.

He has also given a great quote on standalone management so that would be something to strongly consider

Cant wait to get stuck into this and get it ready for the Weekender

Sounds like an easy and relatively inexpensive fix. I wonder if it's a 2 or 3 bar on there now?

    EDIT: you've already stated it's 3

Yeah, new sensor is about £70 I think, but even if it is only this (which will be a big win) I still have my heart set on sorting the wiring etc to ensure reliability.

You are legend for your help with this.....you better make the Weekender for a drive plus the other thing

    Done.

Update, tried a load of things to identify the problem and failed at every turn. Ended up getting my auto electrician mate to look at it and he discovered that water had run down the loom and was causing havoc and it was never going to be reliable without a new one. Passionford to the rescue, it should be here tomorrow with any luck.

I've never met you, but I am starting to hate you a little bit!

Awesome car after awesome car! Hopefully you get it all done for the weekender, that car is going to be mental on track. I've been in a non turbo one and that was ridiculous so god knows what yours is going to be like.

    Thanks, I think

Taken a shed load of excess wiring out of it already, must be a kilo lighter

If I don't get it done soon I will be learning to drive it at the Weekender which will probably end in tears!!

That looks awesome Madda, well all except the wing mirrors lol.

I really hope you bring this to the weekender and take it on track . I'll gladly let you drive my 200 if I can drive that .

Fingers crossed you get it running in no time .

Weapon of mass tyre destruction, needs Nitrous so you can play 'dares' and just dab the button and light up the rears at silly speeds,on a track or airfield of course , Hope you sort the running issue easy as well

Nah, after we fixed the immoboliser issue we went straight for V-Power so what is in there is fresh. Fair suggestion though mate. Took some pics of it today but light was crap so I will get some more once the new loom goes in.

So do I mate, so do I !! Going all out now, this morning I ordered a Cambelt kit, Aux belt kit, fluids for everything, and new rubber seals for the panels. At least I know it will all be right then and as its in pieces I might as well do a proper job
