Essex king of the ring style event in Scotland?

Myself, jeek and some team chizfab members have been discussing the idea of a king of the ring style event up here.

It your not aware of what king of the ring is see here... But it's basically drifting a stock car oval and having mega fun.

    http://www.pure-carma.co.uk/

We have a venue locally and were planning on going this summer with some low spec cars for fun anyway, but just wondering if this style of event would be appealing to anyone?

Maybe in the form of a drift day to begin with?

It works well at Essex, but I'm not sure there's a big enough following up here to run it to any scale or just go for a blast with some mates.

    Opinions please?

yeah mate ad defo b up for that, am guessing ur talking about lochgelly yeah? was there last week as a mate drives in the pro stocks and a was thinkin about asking him to ask the owner if he would be interested, but sounds like u beat me to the punch.....

i was thinking more along the lines of a few mates takin a couple beaters and just if nothing else getting some seat time, rather than a essex style comp, but hey aither is good for me.... means a can now go get the 535 av been trying to justify buying for weeks now

Yeah well we've been a few times before with both our drift cars and some missiles, staff down there and sound and the owners are open to trying new things so it's worth a punt, I think we will organise a day end of July/August and see how it goes.

But if we had numbers to make a bit of sport out of it that would be better I reckon.

See how much of a response we get here!

Could it be made into a fig of 8 style layout? I think it would be great, the boys that do buxton seem to go harder than most

at the moment its a straight oval with both corners slightly diffrent. however the owners have always said if we can make drift events work their they will consider making it an oval. It will be real good for practicing close twining with lesser cars or just having a bit more practice in your pretty car with a wall to meet any mistakes.

were going regardless of the outcome of this thread but thought we should open it up to more people to see if there is enough interest in more events with possibly some prizes.

I'll need to start hunting for a banger. I'm guessing e36 of some engine capacity would be the best?

Was thinking least a fixed back seat too. Maybe a harness. Can always be ripped out and put in another car Very tempted by this haha

pfft i wouldnt worry about harnesses, im litterally welding my diff and that is it, mayby cut the springs too. mind its only an oval so you should be fine in a normal seat, heck the first time i did crail i was still in the standard seats in my 325 lol

First of all i would like to state that gogzy does not speak for us here. he is guessing at the answers.

It will happen. i may try pop in this weekend and get a date or 2 from them.

a helmet and a seatbelt will be the minimum requirement. this will not be bangers simply some low speed twinning/trains where its not such a big deal if you bump each other. We will not be deliberately smashing each other or the wall.

You can fit buckets ect if you feel its necessary.

Im surprised there hasnt been more interest in this .

    here is the track
